In the beginning of this year we gave you the excellent collaboration EP 'Voyage' x Maloon, now Jay is back with his self released 16-track long project 'Mellow Vation'. For this very special project Jay himself has self-produced 6 of the tracks along with some guest productions from the friend Talo and a feature from the lovely vocalist Emmavie who join forces on a summerish jamming tune together.

Mellow Vation is a well crafted piece with various chilled soundscapes that together creates a perfectly mellow sound from beginning to end, which Jay himself is known for from his previous releases. Mellow Vation marks one of the most elaborated and personal work thus far from this up and coming London raised fella.

Underwater is the lead single from London hailing, future soul artist Ego Ella May's forthcoming EP entitled Breathing Underwater. The track was produced by Soulection's very own IAMNOBODI, who was one of only two producers who created the beats for the project. Breathing Underwater will be available to stream and download via her Soundcloud on Feb 5th. This is her first release of 2014.

“Thank God, Still Have My Soul 3.0” Afrobeat R&B Soulful version- is a militant gratitude cipher — a survivor’s chant carved from the wreckage of capitalism, burnout, and systemic erasure. It maps the tension between what’s been taken (time, breath, dignity) and what remains untouchable: the soul. The verses move from economic dispossession to ancestral resilience, flipping trauma into testimony.

Story Behind the Lyric
This suite was born from rupture — a response to systems that measure worth in metrics and monetize exhaustion. It’s a ciphered refusal to let the grind define the spirit. The title itself is a clenched-jaw thanks: not soft praise, but a declaration that despite the losses, the essence remains intact.
