YA RABBI SALLI ‘ALUN NABI

ياَ رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَ انَّبِّي مَنْ جَائَناَ بِارِسَالَه
طَهَ مُحَمَّدْ وَآلِهِ مَنْ كَلَّمَتْهُ الْغَزَالَه
CHORUS: Ya Rabbi Salli ‘alun nabi
man jaana bir-risala
Taha Muhammad wa alihi
man kalamat hul ghazala
O Lord send blessings upon the prophet,
the one who bought us the message,
Taha, Muhammed and his family,
the one whom the gazelle conversed with

تَحْتَ بَابِ الْعَطَا قَاصِدْهُ فِي كُلِّ حَالَه
وَالرَّجَافِيْهِ يَجْعَلْ خَاتِمَتُنَا الْجَمَالَه
Tahta baabil ‘atta
qassid hu fi kuli haala
Warra jaa fihi yaj’al
khatima tunal jamaala
Under the door of bestowal does
the aspirant desire to be all times
And hope in it will make our end beautiful

أَيْشِ لَكْ  بِلْكَدَرْبًا تَعْبُرُ إِلاَّ سَهَالَه
بَخْتَ مَنْ كَانَ فِي حُسْنِ الرَّجَارَأْسَ مَالَه
Ayshi lak bilkadar
ban t’aburu illa sahhala
Bakhta man kaana fi
husnirra ja ra samala
Why is that you tire yourself with this grief
when you can traverse through it with ease!
Fortunate is the one whose capital is good hope

يَاسَمَيْعَ الدُّعَا حَيْرَانُ يَبْغِي دِلاَلَه
رَبِّ دِلُه وَجَنِبْهُ الرَّدَي وَالضَّلاَلَه
Yaa samee ‘addu’aa
hayranu yabghe dilaala
Rabbi di lu wajanibhur
ra daya wad dalaala
Oh the one who hears the supplication,
the perplexed one seeks guidance
My Lord guide him and avert him
from ruin and misguidance

وَإِنْ سَأَلْ يَاكَرِيْمُ الْوَجْهِ فَأَقْبَلْ سُؤَالَه
يَا الله إِرْحَمْهُ وَاجْعَلْ فِي جِنَانِكْ حِلاَلَه
Wa in sa al yaa kareemul
wajhi faqbal suaala
Yalla irhamhu waj
‘alfi jinanik hilaala
When he seeks from (You),
O Generous One, accept his request
O Allah have mercy upon him
and make Your gardens his abode

اَلْحَبِيْبِ الَّذِي سَيْفُهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَلاَلَه
النَّبِيُّ الَّذِي مَا قَطُّ تَلْحَقُ مِثَالَه
Al habibiladhi sayfuhu
‘alayhil jalaala
Annabiyuldhi maa
qattu talhaqu mithala
The beloved, his sword reflects his majesty
The Prophet, there has never
been anyone like him

هُوْ وَأَهْلُهْ وَأَصْحَابُه وَجُمْلَةَ عِيَالَه
وَالصَّلاَةُ عَلَي الْمُخْتَارِ خَتْمِ الرِّسَالَه
Hu wa ahluh wa asshaabu
wa jumlata ‘eyaala
Wassaltu ‘alal mukhtaari
khatmir risala
He, his family, his companions
and all of his dependents,
May blessing be upon the chosen one,
the one with the final message

خَيْرِ دَاعٍ إِلَى التَّقْوَى بِصِدْقِ الْمَقَالَه
وَالصَّحَابَه وَنِعْمَ الْآلِ فِى النَّاسِ آلَه
Khairi da’ain ilat taqwe
bissidqil ma qa la
Wassahaba wa n’aimal
aali finnasi aala
The best caller to piety with truthful speech,
and upon his companions
And the best of families amongst mankind!

رَيْتَنَا عِنْدَهُم نَحْضُرْ نَهَارَ الْكِيَالَه
وَالصَّلاَةُ عَلَى مَنْ كَلَّمَتْهُ الْغَزَالَه
Raytana ‘ainda hum
nahdur nahaaral kiyaala
Wassalatu ‘ala man
kalamathul ghazala
If only we were amongst them we would have
received our portion in full measure
May blessing be upon the one
whom the gazelle conversed with
