Lived a penguin named Pete, with a dream he couldn’t let go.
While his friends would waddle and slide on their belly,
Pete looked up at the sky, dreaming of something more smelly.

Flap his wings and soar so high.
He knew he wasn't built for the sky,
But he said, “Why not give it a try?”

He climbed up a hill, as high as he could,
Flapped his little wings, like he thought he should.
He took a deep breath, and with a mighty leap,
He went tumbling down, in a big fluffy heap.

He built a catapult from an old fishing trap.
With a twang and a whoosh, he soared through the air,
And landed in a pile of seaweed and despair.

Landed in our era, in twenty-twenty-three, oh what a climb!

From horses to cars, from letters to screens,
I think I'll go back, this future's too keen!"

He saw people glued to their screens all day,
No one looked up, no one had much to say.
The sky was polluted, the trees were few,
And the way folks treated each other, it made him blue.
