This is an experiment. I call that improvisation under influence. I played while listening in loop to a random piece I liked, to put my brain in the ambiance. I could almost not hear my own play. I discovered my improvised piece afterward ! I did not edit a single note.

Believe it or not, JAZZ is CLASSICAL !

The two halves of this piece share the same score. The first half is a piano improvisation. The second half is the same piece (same notes, same tempo), but quantized differently : The fast arpeggios are grouped into chords, and it is played Swing.

So, it is the proof that Jazz hides into classical !o) Jazz is everywhere. Jazz is life !

The first part (Classical) is a native piano improvisation. The second part is a Jazzy arrangement of the same score. Same notes, same tempo, but different quantization. Fast arpeggios are grouped in chords. Some corrections on the chords and 7th added here and there. Few transition notes added too, and obviously the swing !

Winter Mood

Graphic artist, writer, and just a budding musician.

Playing piano is my daily therapy against stress. That also repels the rodents that attempt to squat my attic in winter !

As an insomniac, I mainly play at night. Each improvisation is like a snapshot of my mood and state of mind of the instant.

I record almost everything I play. From time to time one of these improvisations inspires me enough, and I use it as a basis for a composition.
