I’m thinking the story for this would be something similar to this:
During Frisk’s genocide run, Undyne doesn’t step in to save Monster Kid due to being elsewhere. Undyne is nowhere to be found and observes Frisk, similar to Sans. After the Mettaton NEO fight, Undyne realizes that frisk is too strong to take on on her own and recruits Ceroba to help her.
