Summary :
Ever since I was a kid, I was always very obsessed with computers and gaming, but there were a lot of times where it was always the same thing over and over again - eg. playing the same games over and over, experiencing the same problems repeatedly and life was boring and repetitive. Based on that thought, I decided to try to make a track to depict a typical day of a shut-in.

Differentiation factor :
This piece does not have a song structure and it uses only one lead melody which consists of only triplets. The use of a triplet-only lead is to show how unstable and unhealthy the shut-in's life was. By repeating this lead, it shows that the shut-in's day did not have any major ups and downs and it makes the piece sound very boring, which is the intended effect.

Delivery of Summary :
I first started this track with only the idea of trying to use a repetitive lead and slowly introducing the drums and bass in the piece. However, the idea of using Windows sound samples popped up in my mind so I decided to use some of them. I tried incorporating the sounds make this piece more interesting and give it life. For the introduction, I used the Windows startup sound to start the track. After a few clicks, the song starts out of nowhere, like how a typical shut-in starts his day online out of nowhere. After awhile, the drumbeats come in to "spice up" the shut-in's life for awhile before changing to a different drumbeat to fit what was entertaining the shut-in at the moment. Like a typical computer, most of them cannot handle too many processes at once so at a point where the song was getting overwhelmed by all the messy rhythm, it stopped. the shut-in then tries to fix his computer but it didn't work, so he restarted it. After the "restart", the leads slowly come back without too many drumbeats as he "learnt his lesson". As he tries to end his day with something nice, something occurred followed up by an error. The track then ends with him lazily attempting to fix the issue but he gives up and shuts down the computer and calls it a day off.

PROW Week 5

Summary
I wanted this track to sound more "dreamy" and make the listeners feel like they're in a wonderland in a game. I thought of this idea because I was daydreaming one day and this melody kind of just popped up in my head and I really liked it, so I decided to make a piece with a melody similar to what was in my mind.
Differentiation factor
For this track, I tried using saw waves instead of a normal dreamy-sounding timbre to make the listeners stay awake and not "drift off" too much while listening to this piece. I also used a drum machine instead of manually inserting the kicks this time round to give a more "messy" feel as dreams aren't always the most organised.
