The track started while I was trying to replicate one of the gritty bass synth used in Ilan Blustone's remix of No one on Earth by above and beyond. I stumbled across my own version of that sound which can be heard in this track during the first half of the breakdown. The first bit of arranging was done starting with the break down.

I tried to focus mostly on a simple pluck with big, wide pad sounds in this track. Usually I work on melodies first before anything else but with this one I went with the bass line and beat first and ended up with this finished piece.

Ground Zero is my love letter to the City of Amsterdam. In February 2019 I visited this magical place to go for Armin van Buuren's A state of trance 900 and fell completely in love with the city. I tried to put my feelings into a piece of music to celebrate my first international festival and the first time seeing one of my biggest inspirations live.
