PREMIERE: Ramon Tapia - Last Step (A*S*Y*S Remix) [Say What?]

Antwerp based Ramon Tapia teamed up with vocalist Rob Harvey for a unique collaboration. With &#8220;Never Gonna Know&#8221; Tapia verifies that his abilities as a producer are diverse to say the least. Both created a wonderful excursion into the depths of house music.

A gently rolling groove that has Ramon&#8217;s trademark written all over it, deep chord progressions and Rob&#8217;s fantastic vocals make &#8220;Never Gonna Know&#8221; one of the outstanding tracks this autumn.

Young German shooting star Lexer is providing the first remix, he&#8217;s adding smooth strings and rearranged the groove a bit to fit his needs. Lexer never looses sight of the over all feel of &#8220;Never Gonna Know&#8221;.

Berlin&#8217;s Bara Brost remix focuses on the vocal arrangement, re-arranging &amp; adding layers of pure bliss. Injecting a bit of summer feel at the same time.

Fukai means &#8216;deep&#8217; in Japanese and five releases in, the label is staying true to its MO at the same time as offering up a fine selection of carefully hand picked remixers that add plenty to each package.

Next one is 'Spazio Liminale' where Matteo proves his mastery of euphoric techno by pushing the boundaries of the genre and taking the listeners on a journey of mind, body and soul - a statement of his evolution as an artist. Say What? 191 is the last release of another exciting year for the label and we wanted to close with a huge bang! Therefore we are happy to welcome Swedish techno producer MarAxe with a stellar EP called 'Pyramid'.

The title track starts off with MarAxe’s typical rolling, raw and unforgiving energy. Chords emerge from the deep and build up in perfect sync - a true testament to the power of raw techno in its purest form, a reminder of the genre’s origins and glimpse into the future.

'Subatomic' is next up on the release and doesn’t let the power fade away, weaving a narrative of dystopian futurism with driving rhtyhms, intricate synth patterns and undulating basslines just the way we like it.

'Larma' follows with an unrelenting onslaught of pounding kicks and hypnotic sequences mixed with an abrasive fusion of metallic clanks and surgings synths, pushing the boundaries of sonic intensity.

'Jura' is the last track of the EP and a declaration of techno’s unrelenting spirit and a praise to the power of raw and unfiltered sound with its hypnotic groove and rolling explosive energy.

Say What? steps into 2024 with heat from our Japanese label regular - Nobuharu Morimoto packed up in a 4-track EP.

We start off with the track 'Renda' - a piano powered monster that reminds us of those early 90s warehouse parties. Deep yet driving and full of surprises this track has Nobuharu’s unique approach to techno all written over this.

Second up on the release is 'Ao', a deep roller instantly sweeps you off your feet with its infectious vibe. The dark elevating elements and unfiltered sound is a testament to the essence of techno and crafts a sonic narrative that transcends conventional boundaries.

Third on the release is 'Kippu'. Bass-heavy and trippy are the first words that come to mind when hearing this track. A hypnotic melody leads the way while the deep kick drum blasts the woofers of the systems whereever this will be played.

Last but not least we have 'Outsider' - an acid edged track that seamlessly blends hypnotic rhythms, relentless beats and atmospheric textures into one and showing that Nobuharu is for sure one of the new school players in the scene!

Say What? presents release number 195 coming from the up-and-coming Polish artist - Krzysiek Teper and his sonic masterpiece called 'F**k Raw', boldly claiming the artist’s prowess in sculpting uncompromising soundscapes that echo the industrial soul of his homeland.

The opening track 'F**k Raw' sets the tone with its pulsating rhythms and haunting synths lingering in the air like echoes in an abandoned factory and invites its listeners to immerse themselves in the raw energy of the underground sound of techno.

The second on the release is 'Get Down' - a massive funky tune that's destined to burn floors to the ground giving you flashbacks to the golden 90’s techno era , an 'instant classic' material in our eyes!

The third track on this already amazing EP is 'NFT', the definition of a train on valium - deep, punchy, yet clean with a building energy, a showcase of multifaceted production skills of Krzysiek Teper, an emerging talent to be aware of!

And last but not least is 'Bring Back', the track that skilfully blends traditional techno elements with modern production techniques, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Rolling drums along with the sweetness of acid line translate it into a musical language that everybody will understand.

PREMIERE: Krzysiek Teper - F**k Raw [Say What?]

Say What? is back with a release from young Italian producer Jacopo Susini, previously released on labels like On Edge Society and Complexed Records, who delivers us now 4 insane groovers that are made to burn the floor!

We start with 'Non-Stop' - a four-to-the-floor banger that invites you to a journey through the depths of pulsating beats, hypnotic rhythms and atmospheric vibes. A testament to Susini’s unparalleled creativity and his ability to create the perfect dancefloor gems to serve as a secret weapon in your music arsenal!

Next up is 'Dissident' that pulsates raw energy and creativity with the frenetic rhythms and old-school synth work, creating a sense of euphoria impossible to resist. As the layers of sound build and evolve, the track takes you on a ride of intensity, culminating in a cathartic release of pure techno energy.

Third track on the release is 'Something', which melodies intertwine with driving rhythms and a vocal that teleports you to a realm where anything is possible serving as a perfect addition to this mesmerising EP.

To finish the release off we have 'Different Way' the track that blurs the lines between the physical and the metaphysical, as rolling drums collide with the melodies creating a landscape that defies the conventional boundaries. For the next instalment of Say What? we see two of our regular and powerhouse techno producers Greg Notill and Tony Romanello join forces to deliver an electrifying 4-track EP to set dancefloors ablaze and is a seamless fusion of their distinct styles!

The EP Starts off with 'Timeless' - a relentless banger characterized by its pounding bassline and atmospheric textures, setting the tone for the voyage that lies ahead. Raw sound design and deep pulsating stabs keep things rolling and driving, maintaining the energy from start to end!

'Patterns' is up next delving into intricate percussive patterns and evolving synths, injecting a surge of adrenaline with its rhythmical energy and hypnotic groove and being a testament of the boundless creativity and collaborative energy these two producers bring together.

Third up is 'Collateral Damage', the track that blends rhythmic complexities with infectious sound tweaks and takes the listener on a sonic assault with its deep energy that ignites the senses straight away from the first moment you listen to the track.

Last on the EP is 'Ingoma' - a high end roller that is both hypnotic and uncompromising, from the moment the needle drops, you are plunged into a whirlwind of distorted synths, thunderous basslines, and modular percussions!

PREMIERE: Greg Notill, Tony Romanello - Timeless [Say What?]

For release number 198 we welcome Dave Davis and ID10-T, that bring along their huge baggage of knowledge in the area of dance music, from playing at big festivals like May Day to releasing early classics on the Belgian label Bonzai in the 90’s and now delivering a 4-track EP on our very own Say What?

We start with the title track 'Boomerang' - a rolling funk-driven four-to-the-floor anthem that keeps pushing with its hypnotic sequence, dancefloor friendly arrangement and pulsating bass that makes the track flow like a wave of energy.

Next up is 'Scratch', bringing back the French Touch time with its disco influenced groove and use of samples. The crafty bass that runs through the track will keep you full on focussed on dancing the night away!

Third on the release is 'Axis', where chords and vocal snippets modulate in perfect harmony, bringing you into a state of total bliss while the low end rumble evinces that Dave and ID10-T produced the perfect early morning tune!

Last but not least is 'Junk Funk' and as the name already states it’s a funky affair that whether experienced in the heat of a packed nightclub or in the solitude of a darkened room with headphones it is sure to leave a lasting impression!
