Hailing from Freiburg (Germany), deep from the Black Forest, Chris Veron is the most aspiring techno artist from Southern Germany, with releases on several top flight labels including Codex, SayWhat?, Set About, Prospect, Unrilis, Phobiq, Orange and many others.  His last Track, 'Drift Line', on Codex Recordings, directly stormed the Beatport Techno Charts and brought him his first number 1 hit. Moreover, almost all of his 2020 releases reached the Top 20, on Beatport, putting him on the Top 30 best selling artists of the year. So you should definitely keep an eye on him in the near future.  

With his unique style of cosmic techno, melodic pushing grooves and dark hard elements, he brings every dance floor to boiling point. Driving melancholic vibes that simultaneously uplift the emotions define this 2 track single coming out of Australia by Mike Turing and veteran producer Barbuto. Zolt is a hot bed of driving low end percussion and bass that lays the foundation for screaming leads and an anticipated vocal that builds to a memorable drop that will garner the attention of anyone on the dance floor. The flipside Take Me Down while similar has a rouge and cheeky Trent Reznor’esque vibe with on the edge bass synth work. Mike Turing is a world class University Professor in Sydney with equal lateral skills in the studio. Barbuto after 26 years in North America has returned to Australia and after working with Mike Turing on his Mavic Music label for several years have rightfully collaborated on this project to create the two undeniable dance weapons for Gain Recordings. The title track Zolt has been tastefully remixed for alternate and appropriate uses by techno meastros Giulia and Luis Miranda.

A blistering buddy to the first instalment of Pig&Dan’s ‘Tunnel Vision’ EP will land in April. 

Not one to rest on their laurels, Pig&Dan have come out firing in 2020. One of the techno genre’s most prolific artists, their 17 year has seen a wealth and consistency of output unmatched by most in the industry. This is exemplified by the ‘Tunnel Vision’ series launched on Drumcode this year.

Set for release just one week after its predecessor, part 2 continues in powerful, peak-time mode. ‘Sirenism’ is a tour de force, driven by a pulsating lead that pops with acidic undertones. ‘Rinse Out The Sound’ is an intoxicating blend of warbled effects, warm synth layers and crisp drum work. ‘Perception’ is marked by an exuberant top line riff and steely percussive layers and makes for a colourful addition to any set. ‘Wasted’ is muscular techno at its finest, finished with a glistening layer of melody. No surprise the collection went down a treat at Warehouse Project, Drumcode Halloween and Dockyard Festival, among others. The duo are in irresistible form.
