The few occasions Murdock has had to play this new single out in the past year have proven it an absolute crowd favourite. From SASASAS’s DJ Phantasy jumping on stage for the rewind at Fabric in London to a flood of messages when a short video of the track at a German drive-in rave popped up online, to massive shouts from the likes of Macky Gee and Kanine and daily DMs asking for its release: ‘Free’ has all the makings of a classic. The female vocals urging everyone to “set yourself free” instantly grab you by the throat - it is literally what everyone wants right now: to be set free! Goosebumps and chills take you into the ribcage-rattling predrop after which the signature bassline kicks in and things really explode. Pounding swingbeat drums and a thumping bass keep you bouncing till the second breakdown when it all starts from the top and you’ll see all the hands going up in the air. This one is destined to be a highlight at the upcoming festivals, the world is working so hard to enable, and one can easily imagine tens of thousands of people singing back the bassline whenever the dj draws for it. “I’d set you all free if I could!”

AC13’s first release shot straight to nr 1 on Beatport and he quickly became a crowd favourite amongst ravers and punters. His relentless onslaught of dubs, remixes and releases kept the entire scene on its toes, and got him plays by the biggest artists on the circuit. Amidst a storm of new talent, he managed to distinguish himself with a very personal sound that took from jungle, rollers and neuro, but is always 100% AC13. Overflowing with personality as well, it was only a matter of time before he started putting vocals to his tracks and these two showcase how much he’s developed in that area as well. Dirtyphonics have been part of the Rampage family for a long time, have premiered all their epic Liive shows at the event and in 2018 they dropped ‘Scorpion’ on the brand’s record label, one of very few drum&bass tracks they have done since they moved to the States 10 years ago. It was a heavy-hitting and very Pendulum-esque workout, albeit abundantly drenched in trademark Dirty darkness, and did big numbers on Beatport and Spotify. Fast forward a few years, and drum&bass is making waves Stateside and many dubstep acts are working on 174 beats and of course, the Dirties are ahead of the pack again. Before they bring out the new ammo, ‘Scorpion’ is getting the remix treatment from Wodd, another French artist on the rise, and now part of the infamous Kannibalen family, and sure shot dancefloor destroyer Tantrum Desire, attacking both dubstep and drum&bass raves.

Bare Up is one of those guys that is just waiting to pop. Everytime he drops a tune, he gets heads to turn and eyebrows to raise, and rightfully so. Sound design is unique and very much on point, and he injects his tracks with a dose of dancefloor energy without ever walking the trodden path. These two are no different. On the one hand there’s ‘I Don’t Want To Fight’ which is an absolute cluster bomb of a track that has it all: captivating vocal, huge synth line, incredible build up and an insane drop that is 100% Bare Up. "Cola" was the first single of Murdock’s X-Ray album and was an instant hit with ravers and radio alike. While it got people in the dance actually dancing again, it also peaked on UK radio especially, with months of daytime plays on many of the nation’s biggest stations. Ruth Royall’s catchy vocals, hinting to 90's r&b and perfectly complementing the latin vibes of the backing track, clearly hit the spot!

After selling out Belgium’s most impressive arena several times over, yearly gathering 15,000 bassheads from around the world, and launching a series of successful compilation albums, the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party in the world is now launching its own imprint, Rampage Recordings. A&R’ed by head honcho Murdock, Rampage Recordings will be showcasing different styles and vibes, covering both drum&bass and dubstep. Focussing on the acts that will play the event in 2018 for now, the label will be dropping a series of samplers, leading up to this year’s compilation album, with contributions confirmed by the likes of Turno, Barely Alive, Voltage, Virtual Riot, Upgrade, Current Value, Franky Nuts, Maduk, Lifecycle and more. Later into next year, expect full single and EP releases from some of the most exciting acts in the drum&bass and dubstep world, as well as remixes of big tunes of a-list artists.



We kick things off with the Sampler 01, which boasts this year’s Rampage anthem by Murdock & Doctrine, a hard rockin stomper that is confirmed as next week’s "René’s Rinse Out” on René LaVice’s new BBC Radio1 show, and will up on UKF a few days later. Next up is Billain with one of his trademark takes on future sonics, preparing us for his Hyperbinary show at Rampage, and we close things off with a classic bassline banger from the studio of Serum & Bladerunner, two of the Kings of The Rollers.

SaSaSaS and Rampage have real history together. The D&B supergroup, made up of Skibadee, Harry Shotta, Shabba D, Stormin, DJ Phantasy and Macky Gee performed at the 2017 event and the live stream helped to catapult them to stardom. With 2,5 million views to date, the captation of their presence at the world’s biggest drum&bass and dubstep party brought them to the attention of the drum&bass world at large, and big festival stages as well as club hits, big streaming numbers and press attention quickly followed as a result. They were brought back in 2018 after the passing of Stormin, who the second appearance at Rampage was a celebration of and solidified their popularity with the cheering crowds.

The group had made a track for the Rampage compilation in 2017, featuring all four of the MCs on mic duties, and now that Macky Gee is performing solo at the upcoming 2019 event, it’s time to unleash the VIP. With both of the SaSaSaS producers at the controls, this one has surpassed the original, and the MCs have added bars that weren’t present in the first version. In short: they smashed it out of the park!

Ten years of Rampage have given us a fair number of anthems, all by the hands of Murdock and Doctrine. Both of them have had a stellar year with Murdock’s debut full length album dropping, with BBC Radio1 support from Annie Mac, Mistajam, Danny Byrd, DJ Target and Rene LaVive, and Doctrine hit the UK airwaves alongside DJ Fresh with his come-back track ‘Control’.

To celebrate a decade of Rampage, we've invited some of our trusted allies to put their own spin on the past years' anthems. Chime, Franky Nuts and Oliverse joined forces to do their thing to “Burning Up", Definitive and Midnight Tyrannosaurus add a very personal touch to “Arena”, while Infekt and MVRDA give “Fire” the riddim treatment. Three very different takes on the Rampage Anthem sound, and all three are guaranteed to smash every dance they hit.

As has become tradition, the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party in the universe announces its approach by means of a massive tune that proves to be a highlight of the event each year as well. This time around, partners-in-crime Murdock and Doctrine join forces once more for an unrelenting attack on the senses, aided by none other than Josh Friend, of Modestep fame. Modestep has already graced the Rampage stage on several occasions and the idea of a collaboration arose, resulting in this call-to-arms. Chunks of metal guitars and drums build into a massive drop that aims to blur any notion and surpass any expectation you may have about the possible toughness of a drum&bass track. “When you lot get there, you better… Start A Rampage!”

Belgium-based prodigy Used is not your run-of-the-mill drum&bass producer. He plays multiple instruments and writes and sings his own songs. He grew up in Netsky-territory and spent his early years dj’ing while riding the waves of the well-documented Belgian jump-up scene. He is all about drum&bass but loves to draw from all corners of its spectrum, while always aiming at the dancefloor as well as at his audience’s feels. Once again, in Better On My Own, the man exposes his feelings on top of supercatchy bassline melodies that will get stuck in your ear as well as keep the dancefloor shaking. After self releasing and the joining Macky Gee on Down 2 Earth Musik, he now touches down on Rampage Recordings ahead of his set at the world’s biggest drum&bass and dubstep party, where we’ll expect this tune to be one of the highlights.

Two years ago we had the absolute pleasure and honour to be able to release an original track by one of the legends and frontrunners of the dubstep scene, a man that has installed a love for dubstep in so many of us, and is pretty much solely responsible for turning dubstep filthy back in 2010: the one and only Doctor P. He has graced the stage of the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party several times and in preparing for his 2018 passage, he delivered the amazing Virtual Reality to Rampage Recordings. Now, in 2020, we are bringing another long time Rampage affiliate to rework the Doc P classic and chuck it into a different territory entirely: Feint, of Monstercat and Licquicity fame, took on the task and turned the skaing original into an uplifting, melodic stomper that is likely to please each and every drum&bass soul around.

Even if this year hasn’t given us much, it has at least provided us with some incredible music, and adding to the list is the new project by dubstep superstars Doctor P and Phil Roksonix. Freaks & Geeks is the name of their new alias and they have a plethora of drum&bass tracks lined up for release. Rampage Recordings is incredibly honoured to be chosen to send the very first of those into the universe. ‘Discovery’ is an astonishing masterclass in dancefloor liquid drum&bass, complete with spaced out atmospherix, punchy drums and a lead riff that will stay with you for days to come. All of that is topped off by the vocals of Ruth Royall, who has established herself this past year as one of the leading ladies of the scene. After working with Macky Gee, Grafix and Pola & Bryson, she was now enlisted to add an extra dose of awesomeness to this already outstanding release.

Freaks & Geeks are set to pop up on some of the biggest labels in the world in the next 6 months or so, but they’ll have a hard time surpassing the goosebump-inducing qualities of ‘Discovery’. The song is destined to make us long for clubs and festivals even more and when those finally return, DJs can expect this to be way up on the punters’ request lists!
