Introducing their first release on Dispatch, we welcome the trio Kolectiv, Dexta & Mauoq to our Dispatch LTD imprint for “The Roots EP”; presenting a selection of no-nonsense, sub-pulsated tracks in a deftly constructed package.

Comprised of four dark & brooding escapades into the abyss, built largely upon a stripped-back framework, superior levels of space allow for imagination to wonder in the lower frequencies. With each track confidently shying away from the common ‘rules’ of arrangement, we’re constantly kept guessing with each passing corner and without prompts, whether it’s a shuffle into half-time tempo at interludes, or stomping and lashing back in suddenly from an often sparse or cinematic breakdowns.

A finely tuned EP from a group of promising producers, expect to hear more from these guys on Dispatch again soon. This release is also lovingly dedicated by the crew and ourselves at the label to Emre Serter, father of one of Kolectiv’s members that sadly passed away recently. Emre, this one’s for you.

Gerra & Stone return to Dispatch to join the main label, kicking things up a notch with their “Too Deep EP” dropping this Autumn. Following the huge success of their LTD debut “Backhand / Tenfold”, the Southampton based duo continue to raise the bar. Their first full Dispatch EP features four concrete rollers; each tightly programmed, each packing a punch at the lower frequencies, injecting instant stamina into any discerning crowd.

Title track “Too Deep” swoops down with deadly fervor and venomous low ends that twist and mature throughout, whilst “Long Game” strikes with ferocity and through to the rib cage. Mid-range growls resemble heated alien discourse, as the bass grooving subtly throughout. 

Keeping the beats moody and no-nonsense, bongos lightly patter over “Lockdown” and sweet vocal washes argue with jeering and fermenting bass sounds. “Bus 54” strips to more abstract surface noises initially, but possesses a lethal edge that we have come to expect from Gerra & Stone.

The duo from Southampton are fast becoming artists to watch with material scheduled for Ram before the end of the year and another Dispatch release lined up for early 2015.
