We're back again! And proud to present our latest Friday Feature! Brother duo Terrence & Phillp (Tez & Phill Bewsey) burst onto the Perth Drum & Bass scene late 2011 early 2012 when their energetic style of Dj’ing was enough to take winning postion at the Heavy Weight Soundz DJ competition presented by Loaded Dice in January, giving them the honer to play along side the one and only, the man that is Drum & Bass Mr. Andy (The Executioner) C.

Terrence & Phillip style of DJ’ing is quite unique, rather than your standard b2b business, these two intertwine and merge as a side by side duo. Their style contrasts many sub genres of drum and bass such as techstep, neurofunk, and jump up. Across three turntables these guys are nothing other than exceptional.

With some serious drive and countless hours being spent in the studio with their new brain child Good Karma Music, and already putting out official releases, expect big things from these two in the future.

CESSMAN PRODUCER, HOST, DUBLIMINAL CONTROLLER. LONDON, UK.

Cessman is the nucleus of dubliminal, he is its creator, culture, energy and lifeblood. Starting out as a young saxophonist, he has matured musically and spiritually from the guidance of his father and mother. Jazz and dub is the major force of his sound, but he insists that music in an evolutionary form is his goal.

Starting out as an emcee, he crafted his skill through a crew on the underground garage scene, moving through various radio stations and raves.

This eventually led to Cessman to forming his own productions which he eventually concentrated all his positive energy on with the creation of “Kalawanji”, a massive dubstep anthem alongside fellow producer Kromestar. The group TerraFonix (Cessman) became the sound, dubliminal the label, this enabled Cessman to have full creative control over his sound which is revered by many within the dub/dubstep scene and beyond.

The ultimate goal is to move dubliminal into the driving force of musical dub and dubstep, this consists of building a sound fit to shake the foundation of any land it touches, releases to inspire a generation and music that has no boundaries.

He is currently in the works of many releases, regular bookings and moving dubliminal to the next level.

Friday Feature Mixtape Vol.30- Cessman (DUBLIMINAL)

We’re super excited to bring you this weeks Friday Feature, and it is none other than Encrypted Audio head honcho (alongside Deafblind) and full time badman Content. Content has been an integral part of the dubstep scene in the UK, and now stretching his sounds all across the globe.  Content, widely known for his stage presence and mixing skill has seen him smash many iconic dance music venues, such as Fabric in London, Barcelona ATX, Corsica Studios in London, Smart Bar in Chicago, and many more, just to touch the tip of the iceberg. Content initially started out “cutting his teeth” producing grime in the early to mid 2000s, but towards the end of the decade, he decided to switch things up to 140bpm after joining the bass culture outfit “Ego Thieves”. First being shown the ropes in 2011 by Benton, Content has gone on to become by far one of dubsteps most interesting and talented producers.

Known for his technical production, and twisted percussion lines, Content has seen his music being released on iconic labels such as Innamind Recordings, Subpressure, and FKOF, with an absolute upheaval of new music forthcoming in the future.  Content has collaborated with some allstar dubstep names, such as Truth, Mesck, Deafblind, and seen support by dubstep legends such as Truth, Joe Nice, J:Kenzo, Youngsta, and many, many more.   A biggest of ups to Content and the crew at Encrypted Audio, this is an absolute smasher of a mix, just look at that tracklist!

On top of holding down a residency on pivotal Palestinian station Radio AlHara, he has shared stages with some of the biggest names in electronic music including Mala, Zed Bias and Moktar, just to name a few.

Renowned for his technical ability behind the decks and deep musical knowledge, Ramsey is equally respected in the scene for his advocacy work that explores resistance, culture and evolution within contemporary dance music.

It’s an honour to have such a pillar of the Australian dance community on the show tonight, and you can expect to hear plenty of deep cuts, dubs, and bass driven selections across this masterful mix.

Hailing from a small town in Estonia called Tartu is our second In Depth feature. Thing's inspiration comes from deeper, darker sounds of reggae and dub influenced music. He has always been a musical person, but has really turning things up a notch in the last three years.

Thing has seen some releases from some heavy hitters in the industry, for example, 31 Recordings, and Blu Mar Ten Music. Aside from that, he runs two record labels of his own, better known as Dubthing Records and Depthwise music. You'll find most of Thing's personal releases are under Dubthing records. His music is recognized and played by well-known names in the field such as Loxy, Doc Scott, dBridge, Gremlinz, Stunna and many others.

Back with the sixteenth instalment of We Don’t Stop, We Won’t Stop on @radioalhara We Don’t Stop, We Won’t Stop celebrates the debut release from Berlin-based Syrian musician @khaledkurbeh on @researchrecords. Likulli Fadāin Eqāéh marks Khaled’s return after seven years, weaving four years of sonic explorations through his practice of muhawalāt [attempts, variations] and hawāmesh [margins] - gestures and footnotes from everyday life, a true masterpiece.

The first half features Khaled’s tapestry of sound, departing from his acoustic roots toward new experimental territories. The second half is curated by @maryossyawish, Chaldean Iraqi artist and founder of @researchrecords - whose lawless approach draws on heritage and abstraction through 15 years of sonic exploration.

Together they present a journey through margins and attempts, celebrating the release that bridges Syrian musical tradition with contemporary practice.

We're back with our latest InDepth feature showcasing none other than Dutch badman TMSV!

Firmly established in the dubstep scene for several years, Tomas Roels, better known as TMSV, has decided to switch things up. After taking a few steps back from the music scene to experiment and search for a new sound to call his own, his latest output takes inspiration from jungle, grime, juke, dubstep and other bass music. No longer constrained by genre or tempo, TMSV’s sub-powered, percussive dread music is diverse, yet recognisable. 

Aside from being a producer, TMSV is a perfectionist behind the decks and has torn up dance floors at renowned club nights in Europe and beyond. Not a fan of single-genre sets, he likes to play the wide range of sounds he’s into.

2016 is set to be a big year for TMSV, with numerous high-profile solo releases as well as remixes on various labels.

We've got a true veteran of the bass music scene to feature for our 79th Friday Feature Mixtape, not many names come close to the sheer calibre and impressive collection of record releases and history inside the bass music scene then that of Dave Sims, aka Nucleus.

In 1989 he started going to raves and clubs such as Dungeon,Crypt, Telepathy and then later Paradise club. It was around this time when he started getting into house and early breakbeats music, DJing at parties and raves and staying one with the music as it evolved through hardcore, jungle and eventually to drum and bass where he has found his true flavour of music.

In 1996 Dave started making tunes with DevParadox, recording as “Nucleus “ where they released various 12" and LP tracks of dark 'jazzfunkbreakbeat' inspired dnb. Meanwhile he was also releasing deeper ambient tracks on various leading dnb labels including Reinforced, Goodlooking, Metalheadz, Offshore, Paradox music, Arctic music.

Dave also dabbles with HipHop production, in 2000 he released 2 BBoy break mixtapes with Break Dj Leacy which have since become classics in BBoy circles worldwide.

In 2002 we saw the creation of "Esoteric", a label exclusively for Nucleus/ Paradox material which is still going strong into its 12th release and getting excellent reviews/regular plays by many of the scenes top DJ's including Goldie, Flight, Marky, Marcus Intalex and Loxy.

As well as djing drum and bass Dave always stayed with his roots playing and collecting funk, disco, b-beats, hip hop, house, jazz and almost every other spectrum of sound you can name. He has played at various events in Germany, France, Holland, Hungary, United States, Russia, Croatia, Australia, Switzerland, Norway, Estonia, Finland and can also be found playing more of a deep house/disco sound at various clubs/bars/parties in London,including Breaking Even, FutureNature/Ctrl Alt Delete, Shift, Lasermagnetic and Funkasino/Let It Play..

Dave has a regular monthly night at the Square, Harlow with Dj Trax, and regular at Muddclub in Strasbourg ,France playing anything with the funk.

His new radio show, Catch a Groove-Nucleus and DjTrax features every 2 weeks on www.jungletrain.net, wednesday nights from 8-10pm gmt. Playing Jungle/DnB tunes from the past, present and future.

As a very special way of celebrating our 87th Friday Feature Mix we decided to do something a little bit different and feature what we think is easily one of the most unique and up and coming stand-out record labels of the year, Green King Cuts. We invited GKC to do a mix that includes some unreleased Green King Cuts music and a vast selection involving some of the finest reggae roots, dub and steppers for your listening pleasure.

Green King Cuts involves three kings, Liam Conway, Jake Hennessy and Chris Iona who all have the drive and desire to release dub infused music on vinyl format. Their influences can be drawn from Reggae roots and early dubstep, all of which encouraged the trio to contribute to this unique scene. 

For the labels debut first release they featured C-Side with ‘Early Days Dub’ and were blessed by Cessman on the B Side with a nostalgic remix, including a full front and back vibrant artwork sleeve which was designed by The Tribes. Whilst recent activities have entailed the latest release, from Green King family members DE-TU with “Bun Down Babylon’ and ‘Origination Dub.’ Bukkha then set the pace by bringing in heavy stepper style remixes, whilst staying true to the dubstep sound.

So kick back and enjoy those sunny Friday Vibes while you listen to the sweet sounds of vinyl crackles and warm analog 7" reggae cuts, and stay locked in as the last 20 minutes of this mix is pure unreleased heaters!

Coming in hot with our 89th Friday Feature, for your listening pleasure hailing from Austria, we give you Sun People.

Over the years he has been quietly making a name for himself evolving his unique sound, heavily influenced by Broken Beats, Techno and IDM-ish sounds. From 2007 onwards the subtle and intricate drum work of his production led to releases on Labels like Immerse, Phuture Shock Musik, CarCrashSet and Byrslf.

His intoxicating live-shows and genre bending DJ-Sets have already fascinated audiences all across Europe. 

Since 2011 Simon/off has been also fusing Oldschool Jungle, Footwork and UK Garage elements with his project Sun People. In 2012 he deputed with a 12“ on disko404 from Graz. Followed by remixes and contributions to various compilations as well as the mini-album “For Those Who Are Not As Others” on Pixelord´s Hyperboloid Records in early 2015, which has raised quite some attention.
Just recently the 7″ titled “Flowers” was released on the Milanese label Beat Machine, for which the Parisian producer Moresounds has also contributed a remix. New outputs will be available soon on Leipzig's Alphacut Records and London's Good Street and Modern Ruin Records.

Beside producing and playing shows he's also hosting the bi-weekly disko404 radio show on Sub.FM.
