The latest single on House of House is a contemporary cover from Dimitri Vegas of the pop-jazz song 'One Day I'll Fly Away' and is a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Takis Thivaios.

Dimitri's rework of the famous 80's hit begins with the originals identifiable piano riff as a mesmerising female topline takes bloom before the groove of the song kicks in. From here, Dimitri steers the song's pace into his familiar territory of 4/4, leading the track towards a lengthy breakdown that stutters and pulsates before a drop sends 'One Day I'll Fly Away' into complete orbit. 

Over the past 12 months, Dimitri has remained ever busy both in the studio and outside. Dimitri has continued to be ever-present with his music releases, from dropping his first solo single 'Pull Me Closer' and the summer smash 'Feel Your Love' with Timmy Trumpet. The launch of his House of House recording label added to this. As well as music, Dimitri has also poured his energy into the development of his Alien samurai Dino Warriors comic book franchise.  Teaming him up with David and his father, Michael Uslan, originator and executive producer of the Batman movie franchise, and Erik Burnham, known for the graphic novel versions of Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, A-Team and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
 
Dimitri's career in the movie business continues to grow with recent additions to his filmography that include a small part in the final instalment of the Jurassic World franchise – Jurassic World: Dominion, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. On top of making his debut lead role in the forthcoming movie Hazard. All of which adds to previous appearances in movies such as Sylvester Stallone's Rambo: Last Blood', 'Men In Black: International' and 'Lukas' with Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Bassjackers are regular collaborators, and that cohesion in the studio is evident on ‘Bonzai Channel One’, as they bring in Crossnaders to add something fresh to this classic. The collective spin the original, introducing the infamous synth line early on to crank up the intensity from the start alongside the well-known vocal. Expert use of time-stretching serves to whip fans into a frenzy in the breakdown, utilising the ‘zai’ vocal to speed up proceedings before the beat drops. A heavy kick provides the dancefloor energy, working with the synth to drive the track, before slowing down into the main break, taking fans on a rollercoaster of emotions before slowly teasing back into the high-octane action.

The trio of Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Quintino come together for their first release of 2021 on Smash the House records. ‘Back To The Oldskool’ is a combination of their many years, and various influences, following their musical passion, dance music! 

From its Thunderdrome-esque intro to the building ravey bass rumble which is ignited by Hot Streak’s iconic 1983 Body Work sample “Music Makes You Lose Control”, that’s been a prominent feature on every dancefloor imaginable. The track launches into a techno-infused dose of industrial arrangement, with faint hardcore sonics, before combining in the break and then unleashing its total might with a gusty psy-trance bassline to round up the songs trip ‘Back To The OldSkool’.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike remained ever busy in 2020 with an impressive output of music coming from the Belgian electronic titans. From releasing singles such as ‘The Anthem’ with Timmy Trumpet and ‘Clap Your Hands’ with Fedde Le Grand and W&W, to dropping ‘Get in Trouble’ with Vini Vici. The brother also released a collaboration with Regard titled ‘Say My Name’ which currently sits at 38 million Spotify streams. Dimitri & Mike also teamed up with Mexican singer/influencer Kimberly Loaiza and Belgian producer Azteck for ‘Do It!’. The single received over 50 million TikTok views within 24 hours and has so far received more than 235 million views on the social media platform; leading it to trend in Latin America and the US. From headlining Tomorrowland – Around the World digital festival during the summer and then featuring again for Tomorrowland’s New Year’s Eve digital edition, the brothers did their best to ensure that fans had much to party about during the lockdown period. Even dropping an all-star Christmas album via their label Smash The House.

Fellow collaborator Quintino’s is one of the most prominent faces in the Top100DJs Poll. From dropping his long-awaited debut album, ‘Bright Nights’ at the tail end of 2019, which was met with a wave of fan support earning an impressive 100million+ streams by the summer of 2020. Quintino was also working hard in the studio on new material tracks like ‘Get You Home’ and ‘Out of This World’ feat KiFi on Spinnin’, ‘Ruins’ on Smash The House and his remix of Tiësto and Vintage Culture’s ‘Coffee’ for Musical Freedom.
