The second sub-label of Ran music - ‘Ran Rad’,  is officially and finally launched today!

 ‘Rad’ is the German word for ‘wheel’, signifying the wish to always move forward. Appreciating this, our friend Liu Wei (FLOSO Design) made a logo with an inspiration from the iconic Neza’s Wheel on Fire, who is a representative protection deity in  Chinese folk religion. 

Initiated in Leipzig Germany, Ran Rad is a new member of the Beijing-based label Ran Music. Currently based in Germany and China, Ran Rad aims to support Ran’s mission of bridging the underground scene from China and beyond. Ran Rad seeks for interesting sounds covering a diversity of genres, when those from hardware gears are particularly embraced. Bass music, however, is totally Ran Rad’s greatest interest.

The first release of the label, namely "The Kickoff" is a long-awaited compilation including beats of producers from all over the world. Our international artists on this compilation include Polish electronic music live-act An On Bast who has just released an EP on Ran Music, Dutch producer Subp Yao and his partner Dayle, German hardware geek DRANQ, Swiss duo Simpig, as well as Germany-based Footwork producer Terrorrythmus. On the China side, Negative 808 from the south coast of China, Beijing-based young Drum and Bass talent Radiax, and our old good friend Soulspeak who is using Kai Lune as the alias this time. 

The artwork was created by German graphic designer Super Quiet. All of their amazing contributions has made the release happen.

Last but not least, this compilation is later coming out also on 12" vinyl, which will be distributed globally by the legendary record label/store Kompakt.

Ran Music is a record label based in Beijing, China. It was founded by mixing engineer/music producer Shen Li Jia and his business partner Tony Zhao at the beginning of 2015. The label is dedicated to the promotion of electronic music and for rising talents coming out of China. Since Ran first began, more than 30 artists and performing acts have released music on the label, including several Chinese electronic music pioneers such as Soulspeak, HWA (aka ELVIS.T), Mickey Zhang and more.

In 2017, Ran Music launched their first sub-label Ran Groove, dedicated to showcasing the rising House/Techno producers that have been scouted all across China.

In 2018, the second sub-label Ran Rad was born, Currently based in Germany and China, Ran Rad aims to support Ran’s mission of bridging the underground scene from China and beyond. Ran Rad seeks for interesting sounds covering a diversity of genres, when those from hardware gears are particularly embraced. Bass music, however, is totally Ran Rad’s greatest interest.

Ran Music is also one of the very few labels in the country that releases music on vinyl and continues to promote vinyl culture. Ran Music is working hard to gradually develop into one of the most recognized and respected indie labels in China.
