He walked atop the padded floor across the gym, taking in the uncomfortable stares and awkward glares from onlookers. The machines rattled, raced and echoed as people pushed their bodies to the limit, testing their endurance and strength. The room was hot, the heat reverberated between dense writhing figures and soon too he would feel just as phased by the dizzying warmth. Now as he approached his station he began to move and sway, for his workout, his routine was a dance. 

Escape Artist is a producer we've kept a close eye on over the years, having released a number of tracks which have caught our ears. The Australian producers latest appearance is on a compilation by Truth, a sprawling affair which features cutting edge electronics and material for the dance.

London Rave GODDEZZ forges the foundations of their new label by gathering exciting mind-throbbing music producers.

ON + ON + ON is a project missioned on continuing the body-move continuum continuously on and on and on and on. You will hear splashes of trance, techno, jungle, house and electro, embellished by sequins of ambient music and soundscapes. GODDEZZ believes in amalgamating the sub-genres of rave music, so there is something for all participators.

Bristol-based Zobol cruises his way back to Earth on 3-track EP Solar Return. A club-ready excursion through the cosmos propelled by warm breaks, positively charged rhythms and acid licked riffs.  Seizing themes of exploration and chemical process, the release unveils deeper melodic strains of Breakbeat, Electro, and Deep House. A welcome addition to the Erbium lab that surges with uplifting energy. 

Falling back to a hazy drift, Photosynthesis cocoons the listener in a weave of airy synths and bubbling melodies. Beatless breathes of ambiance amongst purposeful drum work and spacey trills combine to elevate further; a transcendental experience for night and day that will leave any space-faring crew itching for more.

The paper was scrawled and stained with ink, it had been folded up, discarded and cast into the abyss in the hope that nobody might ever find it. It was littered with mistakes but now, now it meant something more to those who had discovered it many years later. For it told the story of a dance, a mysterious ritual by which people came together beneath the cloak of darkness to extend their knowledge and broaden their human communication. The music played and played, the letter was the final piece in the puzzle which might guide them back to this mystical place. 

Salomo is set to release a new EP on SNC Recs, a break heavy affair with wandering melodies, floating arpeggios and elegant dancefloor sheen. It's out on the 4th of September.

Adam Pits lands next for a debut on X-Kalay as one of the most talked about new producers circulating the UK underground. Based in Leeds, Pits has already attracted the attention and support of established players such as Subb-ann, Call Super and Ciel and left countless others scrambling to chase down his energetic club centric productions.

With his style drawing on the best elements of proggy house, breaks, trance and techno he delivers a solid EP for X-Kalay of driving club rhythms, UK bass and tranced out euphoria; the maturity of his craft seeming to belie this young producer’s relatively modest age.

We premiere title track “Piston Pump”, which provides something a little different than what we've come to expect with Adam's productions - yet demonstrating his broad flex to hit every corner of the dance floor. This cut errs on an almost video game-esque soundtrack tip, Duke Nukem style - slowly chugging its way through dystopian pixels and blocky future formations. It's also well worth listening to the mysterious Magicwire artist Bliss Inc. remix of this, flipping the downtempo vibes into a chugged out trancey peak time banger.

It's been 30 years since John Peel pondered over a mysterious house record with cryptic stickers on his legendary radio show in January of 1991. In 2020 Craigie Knowes sister label Wormhole Wisdom has pulled out all the stops to remaster and reissue this important piece of UK dance music history.

Super-rare classics "Laura Laura" and "La Monde Marine" are coupled with 3 previously unheard/unreleased tracks that were recorded as part of Simon Power's Marine Boy project 3 decades ago - 2 of which have been loving edited for DJ-use by label co-head Parts Unknown.
