This song was inspired by an old photo that I came across. The little girl in the picture just captivated me.  Its a famous photo from 1959 taken in Cuba by Alberto Korda.

"La Niña de la muñeca de palo" - The Girl with the Stick doll.

I don't know any more about the little girl.  The song although inspired by her is also about the countless images of long forgotten people who look out from these old pictures.

To me old photos are windows into the past and I find them fascinating. I hope you like this song, if you do, please let me know in the comments and thanks for listening.

PS: I have since discovered that the little girl who was just 2 years old at the time the photo was taken was Paula María Seijó Loaces, the daughter of a ranch hand. She married young but unfortunately died of a blood disease at just 22 years old. This song is dedicated to her.
