Opening up the fall season, D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music showcases new interpretations of DJ Ruby's 'Apollo'. Originally released as part of the Maltese artist's 2021 chart topping 'Constellations: Orion' collection, the progressive minded track proved to be a release highlight, earning support from the genre's premiere tastemakers. Now, SLC-6 Music invites Golan Zocher, Tenet Audio and Indigo Man to revisit 'Apollo' and provide their own unique interpretations. Making his label debut with the first remix is Colombia-born, Israel-based artist Golan Zocher. Famed for releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Golan takes 'Apollo' on a magical travelogue of trippy effects and emotive melodies that are nicely geared for peak time play. Meanwhile, Tenet Audio, aka Astropilot, returns to SLC-6 this time under his progressive and melodic techno moniker, taking the track deeper into more spacious territory with roomy grooves setting the pace for squelchy stabs and hopeful toplines to work their magic. The release concludes with Mexican artist, and label stalwart, Indigo Man who delivers an outstanding, hypnotizing, old school progressive rendition which caps the release off in fine style.

NICØ (AR) - Moon Phases (NuFects 303 Remix)

Clubsonica Records rounds out a successful year by unveiling the second edition of their Sampler Series. The Colombian imprint's popular MMW and ADE Various Artists releases have become an annual highlight for progressive music aficionados. Operating under a similar ethos, Clubsonica's Sampler Series made its debut last year to resounding praise from fans and tastemakers alike. Spread across five tracks the label showcased music from trending newcomers like Ric Niels alongside long-standing veterans such as Solid Sessions. Now, presenting the much anticipated second edition of the series, Clubsonica features new music from (in order of appearance) Alex Daf and Stas Underhill, Franco Camiolo, Kamilo Sanclemente, KAZKO and Vicissu and Satya-Loka.

Selection one is Alex Daf and Stas Underhill. Aimed squarely at a peak hour dance floor, the duo marries trance-inducing rhythms and striking percussion with punchy beats and rolling grooves. An array of effervescent effects steals the air across the first act, sweeping in and out of the stereo-field as heartfelt melodies add texture and emotion leading into the main break. Rising modulation continues to elevate mood as arps open up and the interlude builds to a colourful symphony of sound, before giving way to warm bass swells and a tension filled build, as the groove drops for a charged finale.

The second selection welcomes Franco Camiolo. Plush beats, pulsating bass tones and rolling percussion set the piece in motion, as clustered motifs and effervescent effects encase the framework. Soaring overlays and whimsical arps further the narrative as the first act evolves, adding depth and emotion leading into the main break. Melting down to a gentle sonic sizzle, the interlude rebuilds itself as percolating arps play off timely effects, as modulation reaches a tasteful apex and the groove re-engages for a melodic final act.

Selection three is longstanding Clubsonica artist Kamilo Sanclemente who returns with the charmed sounds of 'Fable'. Prolific and consistent in equal measure, Kamilo has earned the praise of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while showcasing his music via Anjunadeep, The Soundgarden, Replug and more. Although beloved for his progressive creations, Kamilo reaches into his organic repertoire for what is sure to be a daytime dancefloor delight. Developing in waves, dusty percussion and warm atmospheric phrasing blanket buoyant beats and chunky grooves before an expansive break shifts the narrative further into emotive territory. Shapeshifting vocals and fragmented textures unite across the one-minute centrepiece, bringing with them a childlike exuberance, before eventually giving way to a playfully melodic finale.

Selection four is Sri Lankan artist KAZKO. Enticing from the start, its organic lean proves irresistible, as low-slung grooves anchor impassioned overlays and charming musicality. Layers of exotic percussion are blanketed with hopeful pads, calming effects and fragmented vocals. Emotion peaks as the main break unfolds, with a strummy lead and chanting vocals uniting for goosebump worthy moments, eventually getting washed away as the dulcet groove returns for an elegant finale.

The release concludes with Vicissu and Satya-Loka. Smooth and fluid throughout, the duo's sleek designs are inviting and hopeful, tactfully merging for a momentous end of the night mood, as commanding beats and key changing grooves keep things firmly on the dance floor. Vicissu's vocals ring out in timeless suspension across the main break, bringing with them colour, texture and emotion, gently building anticipation onwards to a glowing apex and purring final movement. Tastefully epic, it rounds out a must have second edition of Clubsonica's Sampler Series, one where a unique amalgamation of artists touch on organic, progressive and melodic house trends.

The three-track original EP showcases her unique blend of electronic & progressive beats, with standout tracks like "Misspoken Words" and "Run" that truly showcase her talent as a producer. Agvstina not only produces great music but also excels as a warm-up DJ, having warmed up for legendary names such as Jimmy Van M, Darin Epsilon, Kevin Di Serna, and Mariano Mellino. The "Disorder" EP is a must-listen for fans of progressive and electronic music, Agvstina's talent as a producer and warm-up DJ is evident in the tracks and will leave you wanting more. Highly recommended!

Inspired by his own hometown’s underground clubbing scene and the intricate melodies and harmonies of progressive house music, Randle’s DJing career started at the age of 17. His name has since been a recurring one in many of the line-ups which grace the progressive and melodic house scene in Malta. Randle has played in some of the most prestigious and renowned underground clubs and clubnights on the island and has shared the line-up with some of Malta's biggest DJs and producers such as Dj Ruby, Dylan Deck, Cedren & Manul, Dre Mt, Daniel Blade but also Randle was on the same line up alongside international artists to mention a few Tube & Berger, Dysco , Guy Mantzur, Alfonso Muchaco & Glowal. Randle has since also been featured as a guest artist in a number of foreign radio shows – racking up/producing over 30 guest mixes in just under one year and placing in the 4th place in the Mix Cloud charts three times. Since 2019, Randle has also been hosting his very own nights which he first set ablaze with a very special and intimate gathering in one of Malta’s most magical and history-rich places – the Birgu Ditch Gardens. In 2020, Randle also launched his very own monthly music podcast, ABYSS, which features guest mixes by some of the biggest local and international progressive house artists of this present moment.
