This is one of the few remixes I've done over the years.  I made this after a trip to Maui when I first fell in love with this track by Brenda Fassie.  Brenda passed away on May 9 2004 at the age of 39.  She remains one of the greatest voices of South African music.   My remix makes the most sense at about 6am on a huge soundsystem in the tropics.

“I am excited to announce the upcoming release of my new album, The Space Between. Join me as we venture together into the luminous night that defines our dreams and guides us deeper into ourselves. I am here in the shadow of your thoughts. I offer you a companion on your voyage. I will be releasing a new single from the album every full moon starting this March 9. I hope you will enjoy this, the first single, Servant of Desire.  I wrote this song in one night on a property adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.  It snowed all night and the fireplace was raging.  I suppose I had a reckoning with myself that sunrise as I stared at Whale Rock, which is perfectly captured in the album artwork by Android Jones, I am a servant of desire.”

It's the full moon, which means it's time to add the next song to the album The Space Between. This one is one of my personal favorites, titled Guiding the Light. I imagine myself in my highest power. My highest form. Not creating, but guiding the light of hope into the void of darkness that surrounds us all in creation and our return to dust. I don't really know what more to say about this one apart from the lyrics themselves.
