"manual sweep using the RANGE pots". You mean the rate pots? So the R*S SSG rate range is higher? You can certainly hear the difference as R*S sweeps past the STS to 'clearer' tone.

Soundcloud compression seems to have quite a negative impact here, download 24 bit/96 kHz files to get the full sound.
