Random XS - [A]tomicity - [C]onsistency - [I]solation - [D]urability Mix

Dark. Very dark. Probably the darkest track ever recorded by Random XS, originally released in 1993 on the 'Y.A.M.' EP (Djax-Up-Beats 176). The story behind this track is very personal and emotional. It was recorded live at home in one take. And although far from perfect, it was a reflection of that one specific moment, so it was decided to leave it exactly as it is. No edits, overdubs or other tricks. A second version was recorded later on, but it didn't come close to the intensity of this first take.

Short after its release on vinyl, German techno guru Sven Väth liked the track so much he invited Random XS to perform at his infamous 'Omen' club in Frankfurt. It was one of the very few times this track was performed live.

For this '2014 Fix' the tempo was made a steady 133⅓ BPM, making it easier for DJs to mix. A little bit of EQ-ing and maximizing was added. That's all.

Shipwrec is turning back the clock and paying deserved respect to a giant in Dutch acid. Active in the 90s, Random XS delivered high octane, 303 drenched techno on the trailblazing Djax-Up-Beats like few others could.

"Errant" and "Truant" have been reclaimed from '97, the first seeing them team up with fellow Djaxer Binaural with the latter being a collaboration with Lost Trax (of Tabernacle fame.) The emblematic TB-303 is at the heart of the EP. Acid lines melt and reform behind distant bleeps for "Errant". Lush chords ebb behind scuttling hi-hats in a deep journey of subaquatic electronics. "Truant" keeps that bubbling energy, teetering on the boundary between techno and ambient the track leads the listener deeper and deeper into a sonic labyrinth.

Taken from the first Random XS EP, released back in 1992 on Djax-Up-Beats. The full 12:43 version was only released on vinyl. It appeared on several compilation CD's in shorter edits and is nowadays available as digital download on the major platforms.

The original mix is skillfully remastered from the original tape, and also ‘repaired’. The notorious out-of-sync gap at eight minutes is fixed, enabling long mixes without ‘trainwrecking'.

Out on @delsinrecords Jan. 14th 2019 (dsr-x15), including brand new remixes by Delta Funktionen and Lost Trax. Limited edition purple and black vinyl.

Random XS - Give Your Body (fixed)

The full 8:50 version of this track is featured on the 'Braincloud' album from 1997. This shorter edit was only released on a promotional compilation CD called "U-Mix: 18 Different Flavours", featuring Utrecht-based bands and artists. Licensed from Djax-Up-Beats.

Random XS - Epilogue (Radikal Edit)

While most Random XS tracks released by Djax-Up-Beats are still available in digital format, this one isn't. It was exclusive to the vinyl version of the 'Braincloud' album in 1997, and not on the CD version. Originally 6:00 long, this unreleased edit was meant for a compilation CD, but instead they choose an edit of the track 'Epilogue'.
