This is a sampler of some drum recording I did in early 2011.  We triggered the kick with a Steven Slate sample and layered in main beats with Noah's (The Browning's drummer) acrylic Tama snare.  Everything else was played live by the drummer.

This is a great example of the kind of sound you can get when blending triggered drums with live drums - mechanical precision with a human touch.

Raised in the Chicago punk rock scene with roots of heavy metal, Jeff Warren has had many extreme phases of his life. His reputation has carried labels such as skateboarder, rock star, junkie, reject, crackhead, recovering drug addict, homeless, foreign exchange broker, business owner, and most importantly, leader. Once signed to Fearless Records with his punk band, his disappointment in where the scene was headed and what the genre had become, he sunk to the underground and took a break from music and was dragged through the pits of Chicago by his addiction to hardcore drugs. Now in South Florida, his new surroundings and healthy lifestyle has enabled the opportunity to accomplish successes such as joining the heavy metal band 'Necrotic', return to outlets that his former drug habit robbed him of, open Evil Ink Tattoos in Boca Raton and perform live music again. He developed a strong friendship with Boynton Beach's rap artist, Kyote. He sang on the hook to Kyote's track, "Wanted" and then found himself as a guest performing at open mic nights around South Florida. To his surprise, there was an explosive reaction to his performance and has been asked by many artists to jump on tracks with them. One of which was Bobble, who along with Kyote motivated Jeff Warren to begin writing his own solo tracks. Jeff Warren's vocal style is heavily influenced by 90's metal vocalists such as Pantera's Phil Anselmo, Snot's Lynn Strait, and Descendent's Milo Aukerman. His lyrics illustrate the horrific reality of drug addiction and being swallowed by a lifestyle developed in the streets. The sound of his voice is both startling and aggressive. Heavy Metal vocals over hip hop beats has opened a new realm for music. Where this takes Jeff Warren he doesn't know nor does he care. It's his way of sublimating his terrifying past and expressing his bitter thoughts.
