Jake Bowen of Periphery called into The Metal Teddy Bear Experience to talk about the band's upcoming tour with Norma Jean, The Contortionist and Infinity Shred. He talked about previously touring with Norma Jean and the fun times they shared. In honor of March being Metal Month, Jake recapped his most metal moments of the month. In light of Periphery taking the stage at Starland Ballroom on April Fools Day, the guitarist shared some previous pranks he and his band members used to pull. He also explained the band's VIP upgrades for this tour. Listen in to hear Jake partaking in the Three Random Silly Questions segment of the show!

Music is all I really have. Nothing else. I lie, okay, I got family & friends too.

When I first joined soundcloud I used to produce under the brand 'ASTRO' (Always Selecting The Rebellious Option), but I scrapped the soundcloud page when it had about 3500 followers, because I was unhappy with an average of 35 likes per song, I felt like I was becoming a slave to statistics so I wanted to just start again. Also I was using a small robot as an avatar which came from the game Little Big Planet but I wouldn't be able to represent that if I were to play a live set, so I wanted a brand that was free of character based imagery.

I picked the brand 'Origami', which later became 'Xrigami' as that was a more unique google search term. I still have a bunch of music on soundcloud under that brand, although I don't use that brand anymore for new music.

Most recently I presented music with the brand 'Poledance Vampires', and the latest one I came up with was '36 Hours To Live'.

I've learned to make music in a lot of different genres... Hip Hop & RnB, then Progressive House, Electrohouse, Complextro, Dubstep, Drumstep, Big Room, Moombahcore, DnB, French House, Glitch-hop, Alternative Electronica, Breakbeat & Trap.

I'm inspired by the life of Van Gogh, because his art was respected after he died, so I'm able to make music even if I don't see it get the recognition I naively imagined when I started.
