Cisco was originally meant to play for us in August 2021 but Covid put a stop to that; thankfully we were able to fulfil our goal of having him to play for us and it couldn't have gone any better in our honest opinion.

To keep the Bonanza cauldron bubbling, we are thrilled to drop the full 3 hours of XDB's glorious Sunday morning slot from Bonanza back in March. 

Anyone who has heard XDB knows that these after-hours moments are where he shines brightest, and this is on full display for Rio 005, as he weaves his way effortlessly through the deepest of deep house, ambient techno, electro, acid and tech house. The music XDB plays is always hard to put your finger on, but is consistently interwoven with a certain intangible feeling and emotion. For many this was an absolute highlight of the festival, so we couldn't be happier to share this with you as the 5th instalment of our mix series.

We had the pleasure of taking you from the night into sunrise through many sub-genres in our record collection. It felt so good having the freedom to craft the set exactly how we wanted on a setup that had been perfectly tweaked by Lyra Audio + crew over the course of 2 days.   

We spent around 6 months planning this event. Everything from the lighting (@seanclarke) to the sound, personally applying for a TEN to use the space (that’s another story altogether) and how the event would run.
 
When you have all the these other variables running alongside an event it can be difficult to lock into the set at your own party but this time everything worked out and we’re really excited to share the memory of this special night. 

Thanks to everyone that made it down and helped in anyway, it’ll always stay with us, this one <3

A special set from a special gathering of friends and family, at Halloween.

I didn't want spooky or scary. Instead, I curated a deep and spiritual selection of tunes to cocoon my people through the night and bring us all a great sense of connection, safety and mirth. The tunes were, of course, all grooving as fuck too!

I discovered many new and old gems, curating this music. It's amazing what can be right under your nose but takes you years to properly appreciate. Lessons for life.
