Swedish newcomer Theo Erikkson makes a strong statement with his ‘Mr Hernn’ EP, delivering a soulful and emotive batch of tunes including the standout house cut ‘Postis Och Drulle’.

As this is his first release, little is known of Theo Erikkson, even to Night Vision Music, the label releasing his debut.  What is known, is this young talent has the skills to produce eclectic and captivating jams, which is evident on the ‘Mr Hernn’ EP.

‘Postis Och Drulle’ fuses a catchy piano melody with soothing guitar riffs and a steady, organic house beat to reveal a raw groove that’s primed to be this summer’s underground anthem. Look for much more from this mysterious producer in the near future.

The ‘Mr Hernn’ EP, which also includes a remix by Crackazat, is set for release July 28.

Premiere: Theo Erikkson 'Postis Och Drulle'

The masked hero comes back after the LP with a 3 tracks EP landing in the summertime and it’s yet again worth the wait, as it brings back hints of that nu-disco house music we learnt to love but together with a new touch. “006A1” is the opening tune which is a funky view on the dancefloor with hints of blissful acid grooves and a meticulous structured arrangement, for club use only. "A2" is pertinent to the mood of the side A and it's a slower but solid groove with smooth vocals that come in without warning. A more classic approach to end the first part. B side is surely a masterpiece, a 11 minutes track taking over the whole side with a trippy approach containing so many musical inputs; throughout the whole composition we can hear how scrupulous is the sound research that the artist made, from sound design, to sampling and structuring, and the groove itself exploding in a mix of world music-afrofunk- beat belter, with the vocals giving it a touch of a tribal dance. A track to remember which surely lifts the level of the whole EP. A track we are, amongst the others, proud to release on our own label (@Apparel-Music). APLWAX006 is landing, so fasten your seat belts, because this is one to remember.

We love working with new artists, and from the moment we heard ‘Change’ from Roger Da’Silva, we loved it and wanted to present it to the world! 
Born in Trinidad & Tobago and now calling the UK home, Roger’s sound has been curated over the last 20 odd years and incorporates everything from calypso rhythms to banging tech house. More recently his production can be found on labels like Let There be House, Zulu Records and Whore House and Freakin909.
‘Change’ is a stomping underground house cut, and we can’t wait for it to explode onto the dance floor.
