The last time I rocked an Insomniac festival was in 2004 for EDC at NOS next to the lake, and every year since the 20th Anniversary at Camp OG at Nocturnal Wonderland I always give up my DJ time slot so I could focus on my photography duties for our Camp OG Family and to give others DJs a chance to shine at Camp.

This year for our Insomniac 30th Anniversary Celebration my brother James (Our Fearless Leader of Camp OG) and my brother Mikey insisted that I rock a Drum & Bass set alongside our Insomniac Camp OG DJ Family, for our Crew and the GA campers next to the Lake at NOCTURNAL WONDERLAND on Saturday September 16th from 12pm to 1pm. I had a blast coming back HOME to rock a set for my Camp OG Family... 🙂

Here is my set from Nocturnal Wonderland - Camp OG 2023 from 3-4AM.
Every year our camp seems to be growing in high numbers with new kids discovering our style of Music.
Feeling beyond proud to have had the pleasure of closing the camp on Friday into Saturday. Hell, even the Cops showed up to shut us down at 3:50AM just like the old days! 

During myset the grid went out on me for a couple of edits on the fly since I use cue's and loops to jump from within the tracks especially since some of the songs were recorded via records. Somehow I managed to correct them on the fly and thats the beauty of Unpredictable moments! I love it!

Not a bad run and so much fun!

Randy J has been a part of the Los Angeles underground since the 80s. Having been a DJ and rabid vinyl collector and a very lucky employee of a record shop that not only sold UK imports - but sold used records and UK music import magazines like Melody Maker and NME (New Musical Express). He latched onto the best of the genres and bought as much music as possible at employee prices. This led to DJing in his teens. Becoming a DJ was not much of a "thing" back then - there were DJs - but not like today...when only fringe stereo stores sold any DJ equipment (ie Technics turntables or DJ amplifiers or needles for playing records - let alone, everything else). Wanting to DJ was not a common wish among most teens in L.A. in the late 80s. Early on, Hip-hop, Funk and Electro breaks were Randy's concentration - but he played anything that rocked the early parties he played. New Wave and 80s Boogie (disco) and even Acid House - were already in his bags. The rest is multiple decades of playing above ground and in the underground. No genre is off-limits...if it dope - it's dope. Randy J continues to play at CAMP OG, Blipsy BAR and all sorts of underground events - mostly in the L.A. area.
