The only time the three brothers got together on stage (Jim and Dan did get together at other times) this is a live rendition of Ashes In The Snow, from 1978. ( The song is Jim's from the first Seals/Crofts album). From a 4 cd set I worked on featuring the work of Ed Seals, primarily. RIP Jim.

Just one of a couple of run throughs when my father was able to convince my mom to do some harmony stuff. Just recorded at home in 1969. I was there watching them do this, never forgot it. They would split within a year or less of this. There's a bit of a glitch in the original recording, but it's what I have.

Here's a couple of rough bits for fun for "I Need You". You have the basic band rocking without piano and other overdubs; we hear part of Larry Norman's backing vocals; John's part that ends the released version in part, with applause at the end. It's just meant to be a bit of a window and hope it's to hear. You get to hear a lot more extended bits, including things we're not releasing, if you get on our campaign of reissuing this classic album from 1977.

One of the only demos I ever got that I kick myself for not releasing, but at the time (1991) the band just didn't fit the direction the label was going in although a couple of years later, when I could have done it, the group had disbanded. I have found nothing on what happened to these guys later online over the years. The spelling of the song is exactly as it was on the tape. This is the shortest piece-the others on the ep length project are much longer and combine spacier rock with metal attack at times. I would still like to do something with it...here's a taste. I'd say this one is almost Zappaesque. Not quite.

A pretty fast take on this. This is part of a tape we have with Rocky Rauch and the Rhythmaires, which is mostly a live set in 1960, but there's also a rehearsal/jam session we found also. Sorry it's hissy, but to hear these two go is a lot of fun. At the end you hear someone tell Sonny, "That's the simple version?"

Just more insanity from my father with Chris Scarbrough on the other lead, and Darell Thatcher on steel. 1982 rehearsals and there's a number of these instrumentals. There was hardly any bass captured and I kind of ghosted a bit in, but it's pretty mid-rangy. Still, I'd given anything to see this in person. This was probably at the Shorecliff in Shell Beach, CA.
