I had an office at Norfolk Southern in Shelbyville years ago around 2003. I heard someone say  "8 and Sand!" Like "break a leg". I  asked what it meant.  8 is the top notch on a throttle and sand is how locomotives get traction.  I am a railroad nerd so I put it in a song.

Adrift And Dreaming

The title is Italian for "the Orange Bull", a tribute to my Fiat 500x that was my soul mate.  Severely damaged by a hail storm of biblical proportions,  he was totalled by the insurance company.  I wanted to make a tribute to Arancia the Fiat.

Everlasting Holiday

Phantom Lines is a project of songs written and recorded by Randy Tate. Also included are a couple of songs written by talented songwriters who he's had the pleasure of working with over the years.  Randy is a longtime guitar player who has mostly concentrated on Alternative,  Punk, Indie, dream pop and noise but dabbled in Blues,  Jazz and Alt Country as well. Oddly enough,  he studied guitar under a bluegrass teacher Jack Martin,  who performed with Flatt & Scruggs.  He also plays keyboards, guitar, bass, mandolin,  lap steel, does all drum programming and vocals. Randy uses mostly Fender Jazzmasters, Telecasters and Jaguars.  His prized possession is a vintage Les Paul Deluxe that makes an appearance here and there. Vox and Fender amps are used throughout.
