Story: In this world, clowns aren't simply a matter of makeup; they embody inherent traits reflected in their physical appearance. What might seem like makeup is actually a result of peculiar deformities that have developed over time through anomalous adaptations. These adaptations have occurred over thousands of years, allowing them to better blend into their environment. Before the emergence of clowns, there were monsters inhabiting the skies. To survive, the clown people had to undergo genetic changes to mirror the designs of these monsters and the clouds above.

Our story unfolds in a country known as Ballutopia, with its bustling capital, "Downtown Clowntown." This vibrant city attracts a myriad of clowns, jesters, jokers, magicians, and fools from all corners of the world, making it a major tourist destination and a hive of activity.

Life in Downtown Clowntown operates according to clown logic. Commutes to work involve riding elephants, peculiar bikes resembling small cars, or traversing tightropes for quicker travel. While conventional air transportation like airplanes is rare, clowns utilize cannons to launch themselves across vast distances, gently descending with the aid of travel balloons (not recommended for the faint-hearted).

Entertainment reigns supreme, with lucrative careers in the performing arts, although traditional jobs in retail, business, farming, and engineering also exist. The skies above Downtown Clowntown exhibit a consistent color palette, transitioning from purple in spring to yellow in summer, orange in fall, and blue in winter. These curious anomalies stem from unique atmospheric elements influenced by the position of the sun and the planet, yet their exact cause remains a mystery.

Despite its outward appearance of joy and festivity, Downtown Clowntown harbors countless untold stories beneath the surface. Beyond the city's confines lie endless opportunities for exploration, reminding residents that Clowntown is but a small fraction of the vast world beyond.

Way back in the stone age of digital composing, it was possible for one person to store a musical project in a tiny 500 KB file, send to to a different person halfway across the area code (because good lord dialing long distance was for madmen) and every note, sample and delicious pitch bend would be right there. Kinda neat when you think about it.

This track started its life at the desk of Radix / Mosaik / The One Of Several Names, whose creations have always blown my socks off with their restrained glee and wonder. The man builds miracles just because he can, and doesn't show off -- in stark contrast to myself, whose first instinct on this collab was to add horns, MORE DRUMS and a timbale solo. Of course he was right in humbly suggesting we dial that shit down a notch, and so the track was released unto the world.

With permission from Radix, then, here it is in its restored glory. And the timbale solo is back.

	The final blow is dealt. Kirby, Poe, Bandana Dee, King Dedede, and Meta Knight stand still, all holding their breath for what is about to happen…

	A black mass encapsulates the Queen’s entire body. It-... It’s bulging… and growing rapidly. It’s the monster’s last resort. Poe runs to his mom’s side, beneath the growth. “Mom! Mom, wake up! Mom we gotta go, we gotta go now!” Her breathing is slowing, and Poe is struggling to talk through tears. “I-...” the Queen begins. “I’m sorry… Poe… I…” “No… no it’s okay Mom. I…” The Queen turns her head to her son. “Leave… my son… you need to go…” Poe can’t hold back his tears any more. “No mom, y- you’re coming with us… you’re comi-” Just then she grabs Poe with what little strength she has left, and tosses him to Kirby. The black mass is almost filling the entire room. “Go, Poe… go… My Defender of Dreamland…” Kirby and his friends grab the warpstar that appears before them, whisking out of the heart of Popstar, Poe yelling for his Mom one final time…

	The black mass is catching up to them. Turning in and out of the corridors of Popstar, the gang bursts out of the reactor! A black beam booms out after them, and slowly dissipates. They did it. They saved Popstar. The clouds above parted, and hands seen throughout the land faded away to nothing.
	Kirby and his friends breathe a sigh of relief. And Poe, looking up at the sky, believes in this bittersweet ending…

	Time passes. Bandana Dee and King Dedede return to ruling over Dreamland, and Meta Knight returns to patrolling the sky from the repaired Halberd.

	The puppet beast, or Poe’s older brother, Mondo, becomes the new ruler of Dreadland, and keeps in touch with King Dedede every once in a while.

	Infra Knight returns to his training, and sometimes infiltrates the Halberd to spar with Meta Knight. He loses every time.

	Poe returned with his brother and comrades to Dreadland. After the battle for Popstar and losing his mother, he vowed to bring her back somehow. “I know she’s not gone! She’s in Popstar, somewhere deep below…”

	And Kirby? Well… he went home and took a nap. The battle has worn out our pink puffball, and he’s ready for bedtime... After all, he’s got a picnic with everyone tomorrow.
