At the request of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, Ringu Tulku has agreed to speak at Rangjung Yeshe Institute on a theme which he himself has embodied for many years: the art of combining the study and practice of Buddhism in an optimal and synergistic way.
Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist Master of the Kagyu lineage. He was trained in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism under many great masters such as HH the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa and HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He took his formal education in India at the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Gangtok and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, India and has served as Professor of Tibetology in Sikkim for 17 years. His doctoral thesis was on the Rimé, or Ecumenical Movement in Tibet. Since 1990 he has been traveling and teaching Buddhism and meditation at more than 50 universities, institutes and Buddhist centres in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and Asia. He is the official representative of HH the 17th Karmapa for Europe and the founder of Karmapa Foundation Europe. Rinpoche Spoke with students at RYI on April 6th 2018.

Rangjung Yeshe Institute (RYI) has conducted study programs in Nepal for more than 25 years. Since 2002 RYI has partnered with Kathmandu University offering academic credit for those study programs. In 2009 RYI launched its online learning program. Our aim is to utilise our expertise and experience to enable students from around the world to study Buddhism and Himalayan Languages with us.
