According to Let’s Eat Grandma, the song ‘Hot Pink’ is about the misconceptions of femininity and masculinity and the power of embracing both of them. The song is also a story about touring their first album, when they were sometimes mistreated and even harassed by other people in the music industry.

I felt like that there was this underlying anger in the original song lyrics that didn’t come out in the music. Therefore I first extracted the vocals from the original track. I then wrote and played a whole new instrumentation for the backing track.
