I would like to depopulate your heart,
of useless promises that they encouraged,
life in the winter,
and force you to resign,
at a time that we dream
less fierce.

I would like to remove from your balcony,
the green clarity of hope
stuck in the cement.
And tell you that it is today
the time of a future
that it was ours.

It suddenly hurts us to bear
the daily insult of a life
still gripped by fear.
We were hoping, perhaps,
that was less harsh,
of course.

Don't ever look back again,
that there is no one left in the place
from those old days.
Don't try to escape
that here we are tied
Without remedy.

I would like to agree with you here
that the impossible may still be future
freedom that you carry inside
and show you that it is already today
the time to start
all over again.

“Crystal Radio” is 4 track album released in 2022.  The central thread related to how time and life flow in an unpredictable pattern, but within boundaries. Lines are created based on decisions we make, big or small.  How different would someone’s life change based on these decisions?  Even say, stopping or not stopping to have a drink at a water fountain, decades previously. Everything after would have been jostled around, but with what impact?  

Two previous tracks have used this theme. ‘Silica Daughter’ appears on the 2021 project “Cloktacs III” and uses a sample where the question is asked, “You won’t fail me will you?”.  Later in 2021, samples from the 90-year-old movie ‘Back Street’ were repurposed to create a radio play called ‘Back Lane’ which will be aired as part of the 2022 Radiophrenia event in Scotland. The storyline of the movie follows a chain of events set in motion by a simple decision that alters the lives of the characters completely, forever, and ends in a classic, ‘what if’…
