Premiere: Power Circle - Garden Of Peace (Raphael Mader Remix) [Renaissance]

Liverpool s emerging talent, Massano, presents his debut EP on Oddity, with an emotional remix by Raphael Mader, who is no stranger to the label.

"Energy” the track that opens the EP, has a catchy melody and an energetic groove as the title describes it, complemented by pads that slowly reveal themselves until they reach the drop. Here is where the action happens, with a very emotional piano, and accompanying strings, that create a melancholic atmosphere, which triggers an arpeggio-like synthesizer, creating a beautiful synergy.

Raphael Mader approaches the remix duties, creating a deeper, trippy and melancholic version of the original, developing the perfect soundtrack for any sunset or sunrise. You can definitely listen to the maturity and evolution of his production and skills on his rework.

Delving deeper into the EP, we have the following two dancefloor-oriented tracks.  In Your Eyes" shows a deeper and more dramatic, yet catchy side of Massano's work.  Tangible" goes more towards the techno side of the EP, including his signature melodic and synth elements, which you can recognize in his productions.

Massano shows us some breaks in  Wrong With Me" giving the perfect closure to the EP. Beautiful pads, chord progressions and synths run throughout the track creating a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy.

There’s no denying the ascent of Raphael Mader over the past 2 years. In spite of the shutdown, his ability to craft a memorable riff and sheer quality of production has seen him rise to become a genuine juggernaut in the melodic techno scene; now, with The Blinding EP, his latest 4 track EP that finds him returning to Renaissance, the convoy shows little signs of slowing.

“I’ve seen a lot of producers highlighting personal influences in their music recently. I guess with the absence of nightclubs everyone’s had to look elsewhere for creative inspiration,” explains Raphael, “but even before the fateful pandemic arrived, I was always more introspective in my approach. My music has, and will always be, my personal therapy - it’s a direct response to my day-to-day life and the events that transpire around me.”

And what a life he must lead because the lens through which Raphael Mader views the world is clearly (pun intended) very beautiful indeed. All 3 original tracks on the EP possess those ethereal, ‘hairs-on-the-back-your-neck’ chills that are so hard to distill; it’s confirmation of a world-class producer, delivering world-class vibes. Whether title track, Blinding, Sail Away or the slightly edgier Fundamental, all more than qualify for the category, ‘goosebumps’.

Berlin's finest Matchy returns to ICONYC with an absolute classy piece of music entitled 'Iconic People' featuring Heartskin on vocals. The German producer who has been a prominent mainstay in the electronic underground kicks' things off nicely with his original mix of 'Iconic People'. The full-on festival vibes shine through, as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and Heartskin's vocal sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. Matchy's trademark beat manipulation is prevalent, as all manner of elements drift in and out of earshot. Perfect for beat loving club crowd or to close a big night out in style. 

Raphael Mader, who has been coming through the ranks at lightspeed, certainly needs no introduction. He created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as their restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up we welcome Mattia Pompeo for his debut on the label, the Italian maestro known for his polished sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – His transcendent touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. The Anjunadeep Explorations compilation returns for its 25th instalment. Responsible for breaking label-favourite acts like CRi, Simon Doty and Luttrell, the various-artist series champions burgeoning electronic music talent, with this edition featuring six label debuts of the nine tracks in the compilation.

First up on the compilation is Jody Barr; a UK-based producer who's been championed by the likes of Pete Tong, Black Coffee, Laurent Garnier, Hernán Cattáneo and more. His label debut 'Eleanor' has already been played in sets by Tony McGuinness of Above & Beyond, as well as label-boss James Grant, and is a driving progressive house track complete with rhythmic melodies and washed out pads.

Brazilian producer Maty Owl also makes his label debut with 'Foz 5pm', an otherworldly track built over a laid-back breakbeat, with distant atmospheric pads, hypnotising vocal samples and an addictive, rolling bassline.

Finnish producer Vár Sofandi returns to the label with his track 'Jökull', having previously released on 'Reflections' volumes 1 & 3. 'Jökull' is a journey of emotive electronica framed within textured, ambient sections of delicate piano.

Feiertag's 'Matic' is a moody track fusing syncopated, organic rhythms with warm electronic melody and fragmented vocal samples. The Dutch producer is also makes his label debut on Anjunadeep Explorations 25, having previously released on labels such as Last Night On Earth and Majestic Casual.

Parallel Voices joins Anjunadeep having previously released labels such as Colorized. The Indian producer has been supported by tastemakers like Eelke Kleijn, Dosem, Lane 8 and has received radio support from Kiss FM. 'To Me' combines light, playful melodies with warm piano chords and a lively, upbeat rhythm.

HMVP returns to the label following his previous release 'Flora' featuring on on flagship label compilation Anjunadeep 11. The track has gone on to clock over 1 million streams across DSP's since release. His latest release 'Artbitraire' features swung groove, organic percussion hits, and the blending of intricately chopped piano notes with electronic synths to create an intriguing yet irresistible deep house track.

Laure debuts on Anjunadeep with her track 'Affinity', a warm, inviting organic house cut. 2023 has seen the Montréal-based artist release two remixes via XYZ label, as well as playing at the esteemed festival Piknic Électronik.

The penultimate track on the compilation comes from ASHE, who has previously released on Anjunadeep's ambient and downtempo imprint 'Reflections' as part of compilation 'Reflections 03'. ASHE has also released on Deadmau5's renowned label Mau5trap. 'Moment' is an atmospheric breakbeat track featuring the enchanting vocals of featured Californian artist Midnite Amity.

Lastly, Raphael Mader is a Munich-based producer who has previously released on Yotto's 'Odd One Out' label, who rounds off the compilation with the suspenseful melodic house track 'Right On'.

Born in Munich, Germany in the mid 80s. Already as a teenager he started making music in his room, developing skills at producing, sound design and mastering on his own projects.

With his production Raphael wraps our consciousness into a pastel-colored fog that is an intense feeling of longing and fills our hearts with the bittersweet potion of melancholy. The music draws its compelling power from a melodic warmth that has almost the quality of a physical force. He uses the emotional undertow of human voices and takes us on a journey full of synthetic elegance and bass boost. 

He is definitely one of the rising artists in the electronic music scene- great labels such as Oddity, Renaissance, Atlant and Yotto’s Odd One Out signed his latest work recently. He also gained a lot of support by several leading national and international artists playing his tracks in their sets- his ambition and his musically perception of modern Techno will certainly keep him on the right track.
