3 QUESTIONS to MARC HOULE:

Q: First of all thanks for your mix and the video you made of it. Let's talk about your roots: How did you get in touch with electronic music once?

A: Way back when, Electronic music really only existed in the realms of computers and science fiction. It represented a romantic dream of the unexplored future which was suddenly being made available to people en masse. Something clicked in my head and I wanted to explore these feelings and the electronic sounds became the soundtrack.  I’ve been chasing that dragon ever since. 

Q: How did you spend your days since the lockdown in early 2020?

A: So many phases have happened. I went from optimism to depression back to hope and scattering around trying to reinvent myself and trying to figure out how exactly I can make best use of this downtime.  It’s steered me back to the sounds and feelings I originally felt and allowed me time to focus once again.  I am rediscovering old synths, songs and cassettes and reworking them in a modern way.  It’s fun.

Q: Which future projects are on the way and what are you currently working on?

A: Right now I’m putting together a live set for Paxahau, the fine people who do the Detroit Movement Festival each year.  My itemsandthings.com Bandcamp page is updated and a new release should be up there soon. I’ve been exploring the Roland TR-8s a little more in-depthly and getting ready to dive into the new Ableton 12.  I’m also doing a bit of sound design for corporations as a means to keep that part of my brain busy.  Last night I had a dream I had 2 shows booked in France this weekend.  It’s strange for the last 15 years of my life to exist only in a dream state.

The last release of an unprecedented year for all of us combines an array of tracks we were playing mostly before the pandemic started. As many of you know, Siamese has a diverse catalogue of music that is constantly redrawing boundaries. This release consists of tracks that get played in the more melodic part of our sets.

Bio - AlexC. is an Italian Dj and Producer.He began his activity in the world of music a few years ago, taking his first steps in parties and private parties, which will lead him to work in numerous clubs in the north of Italy area and beyond. Driven more and more by his passion for music, especially electronic music, and influenced by predominantly Melodic Techno sounds, he has dedicated himself for some time to production, and today he has a dozen releases (Reload Records,Egothermia,Pure Enjoyment Black, Bullfinch.. ) distributed on numerous portals in the sector, as well as various remixes. and bootleg, boasts collaborations with clubs and realities from the night world of northern Italy and beyond. In continuous musical and technical evolution, he is working on his electronic live project. @emiliepmusic started listening to house music, mostly Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi as a 12 year old and from that point she was hooked on electronic music. In 2017 she started her journey as a DJ focused on industrial techno and later she travelled through various subgenres and currently resides in the realms of minimal house, deep tech and hypnotic techno. In December 2019 the journey continued in Oslo at Minimal bar/Caña, Mandagsklubben at Jaeger in Oslo and in January 2020 at Northern Impact - Werkhaus in London.
