Rough Practice

The Rap Nerds kicked off the Summer Film Series with the movie, "Baby Boy" directed by John Singleton. Curt and Darren were joined by Music Support Group member, Kendra (IG @kenken_laflare).

In this episode, we reviewed "Baby Boy" and broke down some of our favorite scenes from the movie. Of course, we let the jokes fly all episode. How much did Jody get paid to fix bikes? Summer Film Series: "Baby Boy" - Don't be like Jody

Curt and Darren are back with another episode from their "Summer Series." During this episode, the duo goes over the Friday trilogy (Friday, Next Friday, Friday After Next). They discuss the background behind the film and go over the things that make the film so relatable and a hilarious staple in the Black film world.

In our final episode of the Summer Film Series, Curt and Darren review Spike Lee's 80's classic "Do the Right Thing." The duo discusses the film's relationship with hip hop and the path it paved for up and coming Black filmmakers. The Rap Nerds also talk about the social impact of the film and its ability to speak to the current times.

Curt and Darren sit down with Kevin Golden, one of the members of the Music Support Group and an entertainment lawyer by trade. Kevin shares his knowledge of the music business and speaks on the new trend of independent artists. We also discuss Geoffrey Golden's newest gospel album "See Revival," which Kevin helped executive produced and the creation of their newest label, Golden Brothers Music Group.
