What the title says. I'm in Germany, call recording is disabled here. I know I can enable the call recording feature for Germany in source and then compile myself, but is there a more practical way?


As a developer of call and call recording related apps I have been involved with call recording for over 6 years. It was a cat and mouse game for the most of last 6 years. It seems however, cat has decided to stop playing.


Google have been working to stop call recording on Android for some time. They have blocked access to real call recording on Android 6 and completely blocked call recording over the microphone on Android 10. In response, apps started using Accessibility Service to record calls on Android 10 and above.


If you watch the video however, you will hear that the presenter mistakenly claiming phone apps having access to call audio. This is not correct, only phone app that come with your phone or made by Google can access the call audio. 3rd party apps cannot.


They once had a go in the initial days of Android 11 and implemented a privacy respecting call recording functionality that beeps when call is recorded. Unfortunately, whatever happened it was not included in the final version of Android 11.


Call Recorder - SKVALEX (Trial) is intended for automatic call recording. The app provides functionality to record both sides on devices with such support. But some devices don't have 2-way call recording support, or have issues with Bluetooth recording.


Also, the app provides wide functionality to manage recordings:
- Search recordings
- Conversion from one format to another (e.g WAV to FLAC/OPUS/MP3/etc.)
- Adding notes to recorded files
- In-call control button while call recording: you can easily start/stop recording during a call
- Enter to the app using password (or fingerprint)
- Auto clean-up - automatically removes old recordings according to rules set by you. Starred recordings ignored.
- Exceptions: you may set up phone numbers, contacts or groups for specific actions, like always record or do not
- Filename template: you can easily change structure of created files
- Cloud backup support
- Playback recording over main speaker or handset speaker
- Access recording from within contact info
- Call confirm: the app will ask you whether you want to make a call or not
- After call actions dialog: the app will ask what to do with a recorded call
- Vibrate on call start/end


To anyone with a fairphone 5 because I only have the 4. Does this app work with 2 way recording? I know it works for the fairphone 4 with lineage very well. Planning to buy a second fairphone but this is a deal breaker for me. Hoping someone can confirm that call recording from both parties work with the FP5.

FYI: I tried Skvalex (v3.4.9) which worked. I used Magisk to install Skvalex ("Call Recorder - SKVALEX") which made necessary changes and installed the app. tested on 5 calls (using phone and Bluetooth headset) - my voice and the other person was recorded clearly.





Thank to nadieaqui for telling us how he got a way to record calls. I did the same and I'm back on track. The sound quality isn't as good as when I was on Android 8, Galaxy S8, Boldbeast, unrooted but it's good enough to record calls at work and avoid taking notes manually.


P.S. Installed Skvalex v3.5.0 ("Call Recorder") on this phone. Works flawlessly. Has all the features of BoldBeast that I used & valued. DL from the skvalex website, not the Play Store. Costs $10 for all features.

Homeward Bound
" is a song by the American music duo Simon & Garfunkel, released as a single on January 19, 1966, by Columbia Records. It was written by Paul Simon and produced by Bob Johnston. Simon wrote the song during his time in England, possibly while waiting for a train at Widnes railway station in the northwest of England.


During his time in England, Simon met Kathy Chitty, who was working as a ticket-taker at the club. The two hit it off instantly, but it became clear that Simon desired to perform in London, resulting in an emotional farewell.[3] Following a performance in Widnes, Simon was dropped off at Widnes railway station for a train to his next gig in Humberside.[4] He had been missing Chitty and he began to write "Homeward Bound" on a scrap of paper.[5] A plaque commemorating the song is displayed on the Widnes station platform.[6]


Other locations for the writing of the song have been suggested. Simon's friend Geoff Speed, with whom Simon stayed in Liverpool in September 1965, said he heard Simon writing the song when he was staying at his home. Speed then dropped him at Widnes railway station; he said it was likely that Simon wrote one verse in Liverpool and the chorus in Wigan, and finished the song at the station.[6] In 2016, Simon said he wrote the song in a railway station near Liverpool, and said it might have been Warrington.[7]


Chitty is mentioned in several other Simon & Garfunkel songs, most notably "Kathy's Song" and "America". In the 1969 song "The Boxer", Simon alludes to a railway station, a possible reference to "Homeward Bound".[8]


There is something truly magical about this song. I first discovered it as a young boy soprano, growing up in Ottawa, Canada. Known to me only as a choral work, I was surprised to see a recent revival by a number of solo artists and YouTubers. The text became even more poignant and personal for me while working abroad and chasing a new adventure, yet missing home.

The bioavailability of zinc from vegetarian diets is lower than from nonvegetarian diets because vegetarians typically eat large amounts of legumes and whole grains, which contain phytates that bind zinc and inhibit its absorption [2]. In addition, meat is high in bioavailable zinc [35]. As a result, vegetarians and vegans usually have lower dietary intakes of zinc and lower serum zinc levels than nonvegetarians [36].


HIV infection reduces the absorption and metabolism of zinc from foods [3]. In addition, people with HIV often have diarrhea, which can result in excessive losses of zinc. For these reasons, people with HIV often have low plasma or serum zinc levels.


Several clinical trials have found some beneficial effects of zinc supplementation to manage the morbidity and mortality associated with HIV infection. One trial, for example, randomly assigned 231 adults who had HIV and plasma zinc levels lower than 75 mcg/dL to supplemental zinc (12 mg/day for women or 15 mg/day for men) or placebo for 18 months [70]. The supplements reduced rates of immunological failure events (CD4+ T-cell counts less than 200 cells/mL) by 76% and rates of diarrhea by 60% but had no effect on mortality. In another trial in Iran that randomized 146 adults with HIV to 50 mg/day zinc, 200 mcg/day selenium, or placebo for 6 months and then followed participants for another 3 months, the zinc supplements decreased rates of opportunistic infections but did not improve CD4+ T-cell counts [71].


However, studies published since the Cochrane Review have had more positive findings. A systematic review and meta-analysis included nine placebo-controlled trials assessing the effects of zinc supplementation (7 mg/day to 150 mg/day) for 6 to 52 weeks on lipid profiles in a total of 424 people with T2D [91]. The supplements had beneficial effects on serum levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol but not on serum low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol or high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels.





A second systematic review and meta-analysis compared the effects of low-dose zinc supplements (less than 25 mg/day) with those of high-dose supplements (25 to 75 mg/day) on risk factors for T2D and cardiovascular disease in 27 clinical trials (including two from the 2015 Cochrane Review) [92]. Zinc supplements were administered for 4 weeks to 12 months (mean 11 weeks) to a total of 1,042 participants age 6 to 106 years (but most studies included adults age 20 to 70 years) and placebo to 974 participants. Although low-dose and high-dose zinc supplements had beneficial effects on several outcomes assessed, low doses of zinc and longer administration improved a larger number of risk factors. For example, studies that administered zinc supplements for less than 12 weeks had beneficial effects on fasting blood glucose, insulin resistance, and triglyceride levels, whereas studies that administered the supplements for longer had positive effects on fasting blood glucose, hemoglobin A1c, triglyceride, total cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol levels. Sensitivity analyses showed no significant effect of zinc dosage on these outcomes.


A third systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of zinc supplements on T2D prevention and management in 32 trials that administered zinc supplements (4 to 240 mg/day zinc, mean 35 mg/day) or placebo for 1 to 12 months to a total of 1,700 adults age 18 and older with T2D (except that one included study was in children age 6 to 10 years) [93]. The supplements reduced fasting glucose, 2-hour postprandial glucose, fasting insulin, insulin resistance, glycated hemoglobin, and C-reactive protein levels. Glycemic indicators did not vary by zinc dosage (less than 30 mg/day or at least 30 mg/day) or duration of supplementation (1 month or more than 1 month).

Any folder on your hard drive can be designated as a Watch Folder. Once you select your Watch Folder, any files that you add into the folder are encoded using the selected presets. Adobe Media Encoder automatically detects media files being added to the Watch Folder and starts the encoding.

I cannot queue my projects, not being a ble to use a vital function that I need to keep my workflow moving. Once again adobe dropping the ball with basic fixes while they keep pumping out these "updates"


the first call was disconnected with no explaination after asking me to re-name folder 'common' did not work. The second call i was almost immmediately asked to load software and do a remote session. My backgound has been computer security ... i was unhappy to leap straight into this option without looking for known errors etc first ... again this call was disconnected with no warning/explanation


For me, The only solution was to uncheck in Security and privacy in system Preferences "require password after sleep or screensaver begins". And then turn off screensaver and in energy the slider needs to go to never. The whole package leads The encoder to continue its job, since the machine is always up and running. Very annoying!

Most likely, in my experience, encoder came accross a clip that was not exported correctly from the editor. For example, Avid can play and edit long GOP but try to send it to encoder - and the screen will be black with audio only.


When I get render errors, I go in to the program folders and manually delete all media cache files and previews. It has worked every time for me. You can try going in from >edit>preferences>media>clean, But I found that a manual clean usually works best.

Hey im actually quite new to the forums. even though this thread is really old for like so many years, i actually came across this same problem today 07. 09. 2020. And after going through the forum i found a solution. I got the same issue trying to render ia media encorder 2020 gave me a failed icon and when i clicked it the log was empty. it just showed me the yellow failed icon. solution is to change the location that has more space. i was keep trying to export into my C drive it only had 90GB free, then i switched it to my D drive which had almost 200 gigs free it exported smoothly without an error. Hope this helps if anyone come across this same problem even after years.
