MK-ULTRA 16 - RED DEVIIL

Downwell is an electronic project by Giorgi Kolbaia, a Tbilisi-based musician and DJ.  The debut EP released by Oraculo Records, titled “I See Death in Your Eyes”, set the tone for the project by showcasing its characteristic blend of EBM and techno, offering an experimental listening experience. 

The runner-up, “Oppression Index”, picked up by X-IMG, is an eight-track journey packing a punch, a powerful embodiment of the artist’s reflections on the political milieu in his native Georgia, as well as the struggles of various people around the world. Downwell’s latest EP, “Relative Strangers”, was captured on wax by Persephonic Sirens.

For the 6th episode, we welcome Paris-based producer, DJ and live act @substencia with the recording of her live performance at our July's event in Brussels. She fuses the most delightful industrial techno with ominous and transcendental dark ambient - cinematic lullabies and noise-collages get along with destructive drum patterns for the sake of her obscure knowledge.
Substencia regularly shares her passion for music across France and has performed at parties and festivals such as Château Perché and FIFIB in Bordeaux, as well as iconic clubs in Europe, including Tresor in Berlin, Elipamanoke in Leipzig and Moog in Barcelona.

Ancienne Danseuse pro ayant parcouru l’Europe, @aestr est une artiste multifacettes fortement imprégnée par la musique industrielle, la psytrance, le post-punk et le post-métal depuis 20 ans.

Auparavant bassiste, elle est sensible aux rythmiques frénétiques et appuyées, aux sonorités froides et métalliques. Elle puise ses inspirations chez @officialskinnypuppy, @nineinchnails, @cult-of-luna, @front242official, @ancient-methods, @crystal-geometry, @front-line-assembly, @perc ... Mais aussi la littérature, le cinéma SF/Horreur, la spiritualité et l’astrophysique. Ses productions visent à surprendre, et invitent à la transe. La musique comme medium vers un état modifié de conscience.

ÆSTR vous entraîne dans un univers dystopique où l'urgence se fait pressante, lourde. Sa sensibilité musicale et de danseuse lui donnent une approche différente du dance floor. Matérialiser les émotions par le mix. Jouer sur les tensions, créer la surprise et inviter à la transe.

ATRIUM CAST 029: ÆSTR

Rubén Seoane started collecting records of electronic music over 18 years ago. In 2011, he played at the legendary Moog in Barcelona for the first time, becoming a resident there a year later. Since he has shared a booth with the best and brightest of the international electronic scene. He thrives on experimentation, always looking for new ways to surprise his audience. When it comes to genres, Seoane doesn’t like to limit himself, playing with techno, acid, and industrial, throwing in more experimental subgenres for good measure to create a magnetizing atmosphere. In 2021, he released his first EP, “Disinformation”, on Ancient Methods’ record label Persephonic Sirens.
