[ It's unusual that your lover comes slipping into your bed in the middle of the night -- preferring the propriety of sleeping separately until you're married -- but when you get a look at him, you understand why he did. He's not EASILY shaken up, so apparently, the nightmare he just had was a bad one.

Practically as soon as he confesses that he started to cry harder after realizing he couldn't just roll over and hug you once he woke up, you take him in your arms. The dream he had sounds awful, and you love him deeply, so you consider it your duty as his partner to make sure he feels safe and is able to go back to sleep.

[ After running some errands, you return home to the sound of... crying? When you hurry into the living room, you find your boyfriend Xin sobbing on the couch, and startled by the fact that you're home already.

It takes him a few minutes to calm down so that he can tell you what's wrong, but finally, he admits that he was thinking about an incident that happened last week... and basically broke down in anxiety-induced tears. He's afraid that he's just a burden on you, and afraid that he doesn't have a 'real' self of his own because he's a shapeshifter and likes to shift into different forms. Although he's always been sensitive and prone to anxiety, this is the first time you've seen him so distraught or having a full-on breakdown.

You're here, though. He's more than welcome to cry on your shoulder, and you'll hold him, and you'll tell him how much you love him and how much you love having him in your life.

He might be crying for a while. That's okay. Bad days happen. You're here to make sure Xin isn't alone when they do. ]

AAAAAA my first ASMR with an original baby!!! this is my monster boy OC (one of many lol) and he's a shapeshifter/mimic/changeling and his name is Xin~

his accent is a little weird, maybe? so I apologize if it sounds off! he's ethnically Chinese and has a Chinese accent... or at least, that's how his voice started; he's been to so many places and taken so many different forms by now, all the voices he's ever used have left a piece in his own, so his accent is really more "Chinese, mixed with a little of everything else" XD

anyway he's baby!!! I'm super excited to get to do something with him, I haven't used him in a long time but I super love him~

[ What used to be a church of Barbatos has become abandoned, taken over by nature. Birds chirp gently as you walk, and you approach your god as he's perched on gnarled tree root which has grown through a stained glass window. Seemingly unaware of your presence, he sings a joyful song; it lifts your soul higher than any wind could ever take you.

Once you give away that you're there, he invites you to come sit with him, and you reveal that you've brought him an offering. Though he insists you call it a "gift", instead, he takes it... and, whether it's from the wine or his own isolation getting to him, he begins to confide in you. Just enough for you to see that he is a very, very lonely person.

You're lucky enough to be allowed the blessing of hearing him play his lyre. Not only that, he apparently composes a small tune just for you as you sit with him. Because you want nothing from him except to be with him, he appears to be incredibly comfortable with you.

You've come to this place many times before, to watch him. To worship. But you don't think you want to worship him anymore. To worship him, in his own explanation, means you would distance yourself by default.

And given the choice, you think you would rather be close to him than to worship him. ]

this was inspired by a beautiful comment on my old YouTube channel, so I really, really wanted to do something like this. Venti is a god, but he's a person first, and I think he feels like many people forget that... it's got to be lonely, existing the way he does
