A straight forward track that embraces loops and repetition with hints of HNNY's golden days.

Marking the 15th anniversary of Dixon’s & Georg Levin’s album „Take It Personal“ under their moniker Wahoo, we proudly re-release their classic „Don´t Take It Personal (Georg Levin Edit)“ featuring Paul Randolph.
  
Originally a B-Side of the single „I’m Your Lover“, this alternative version of the album’s opener quickly became a fan favorite & was featured, among others, on Gilles Peterson’s „In the House“ on Defected.

It was not until last year when Moodymann put this version on a playlist he curated for GTA that we found out that it was not available on streaming platforms. At the end the track didn’t made it into the game but at least we got reminded that this one exists. 

Still sounding fresh & genuinely soulful, the song’s lyrics could not have been more timely as a mantra for this day and age: „Whatever comes around, don’t let it get you down, you’re on solid ground - don’t take it personal.“

So we come to another great Youth Control release, YOU013, but is this one going to prove unlucky? We don’t think so! In fact we are confident this one will fly ;) For our latest we have on board the fantastic Birdee with a 3 track EP entitled ‘Three Sides Of Love’.

Under the guise of Birdee, Marcello De Angelis has over the last decade proven to be a prolific producer and remixer. Birdee has been vaunted by a veritable who’s who of dance music:  Fatboy Slim, Oliver Heldens, Laidback Luke, as well as Kissy Sellout, Annie Nightingale and Jaymo and Andy George of BBC Radio 1 have all taken Birdee under their wing, spinning his tracks in their sets and on their radio shows, along with Kiss FM, KCRW, Triple J and Capital Radio.

Birdee approached the new EP ‘Three Sides of Love’ from a very interesting vantage point, taking into consideration the concept of love and the many shapes and forms it can take. All three tracks on the EP represent distinct areas of emotional involvement, the ‘Want’ to be in love, the ’Need’ to feel love and the ‘Desire’ to hold on to it once we have it… ‘Three Sides Of Love’ opens up with some lovely electro funk Nu-Disco on ‘I Want You, featuring the vocal talents of Gamble & Burke. Whilst track 2 ‘Can’t Fight The Feeling’ stretches its wings and heads off into 70s Funk with an almost space age swagger, track 3 ‘Hold On’ has us back in Nu-Disco territory with an expanse of synths, 80’s drumbeats and a sing-along vocal hook. Hold on indeed and pick up this EP as soon as it’s released.

After 'Sentimental' his latest release on Nomada Records the exploration of harmonic dubs and the influence of disco has always been present on Nico's work. He comes now with a release in which repetition comes present in every song in which the song developed throughout without being obvious. Congas, shakers and a common vibrating rhodes fills up the EP named 'Dub Shaker'.

Steam its first track introduces the mood that will be present on the whole EP, making it a soft club song with an on going baseline, finishing with sweet vocals and pulsating horns. Follow up by “Can’t do my thing” a dub track with an on going guitar riff which develops frenzy in the club. And last but not least of the original tracks comes “Reflect' a definitely club track which translates in a fluctuating bass companied by sweet soul vocals and a romanticised rhodes piano. The EP includes an stunning remix by one of Nico's favourites Dicky Trisco, who never disappoints when it comes to baselines & disco. Enjoy Nico Saav's Steam EP.

Después de "Sentimental" su último lanzamiento en Nomada Records la exploración de las dubs armónicas y la influencia de disco siempre ha estado presente en el trabajo de Nico. Él viene ahora con un lanzamiento en el cual la repetición viene presente en cada canción en la cual se desarrolla a través sin ser obvia. Congas, shakers y un rhodes vibrante llena el EP titulado "Dub Shaker".

Steam su primera pista introduce el estado de ánimo que estará presente en todo el EP, convirtiéndolo en una canción de club suave con una línea de bajo en curso, terminando con una voz dulce y metales pulsantes. Seguido por "Can't Do My Thing" una pista de dub con un riff de guitarra en marcha que desarrolla frenesí en el club. Y por último pero no menos importante de las pistas originales viene "Reflect" definitivamente una pista de club que se traduce en un bajo flotante acompañado de voces de soul y un romántico piano rhodes.
