Ras P, or simply Platnum (born Kenroy Douglas, in St. Thomas U.S.V.I. on January 14, 1982) is a Reggae artist who enjoys fusing other genres with a contemporary & unique sound.   
	Being a native of the Virgin Islands, he was surrounded by the sounds from musical legends like fellow natives Daddy Friday and Sabatical Oder, and pays homage to Bob Marley, Cutty Ranks, Tupac Shakur, The Fugees, Alanis Morissette, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, and Quincy Jones for his impact on the music industry.  This only child raised by his mother Ocelda Douglas and late grandmother Henrietta Douglas, while having no connection to his father found company in recording himself while free-styling in his room.  Ras P’s uncle Shambo noticed his budding interest and took Ras P to St. Thomas’ Bolongo Bay Hotel, where he performed for hotel guests at the age of 11.  That defining moment made him realize that music was not just a past time, but was what he wanted to pursue.  Once graduating from C.A.H.S. he had the choice of joining the army or furthering his education by attending trade-school.  His choice was to attend APEX Welding Technology program in New York.  Graduating at the top of his class landed him a 10 year and counting opportunity as Foreman, fabricating custom furniture for clients like Ralph Lauren, Museum of Modern Arts-MOMA and Bergdorf Goodman.  
	His daily commitments could not overshadow his musical endeavors, which ultimately lead him to create and build his in-house studio.  There he began using programs like Pro Tools, Reason, and hosting his own sessions and collaborations with other artists throughout the city.  In order to express and demonstrate his artistic talents he also took to the streets of Bronx, NY to freestyle battles, performing for local colleges, and has since developed a catalogue of his music.  Frustrated with not having an engineer who could bring the raw essence of his sound, lyrics, and style through mixing, Ras P expanded his knowledge beyond being just an artist and enrolled at the Institute of Audio Research-IAR, NYC.  It was there he refined his business and technological skills in courses such as (Audio Electronics, Basics of Digital Audio, Ear Training & Acoustics, Business of Music, Audio Processing & Storage, Digital Music Production, Microphones Amps & Speakers, Mixing Music, MIDI Applications, Recoding Workshop, and Post-Production Audio.)  
Musically ahead of his time –Ras P is not only known for his eclectic style.  His skill is not restricted to fusing reggae with Hip Hop, R&B, Calypso and Pop, but his craft further transcends into audio engineering, song writing, mixing, and arranging which he considers his core.   Upon the successful completion of achieving his certification in Audio Engineering at New York City’s IAR, he began the operation of his in-home studio – Organic Audio Inc., were he is the Studio Director and Engineer.  The outcome has allowed him full creative control of his craft and fostered his ability to provide consultation to his clients and colleagues.
