Rashaun aka Head-On was born in Guyana, South America in a small village on the East Coast of the only English speaking country on the continent called Plaisance. Plaisance was one of the first villages purchased and owned by emancipated Afrikans instilling in him a strong sense of Afrikan independence. Rashaun moved to Brooklyn NY at the tender age of 5 with his family. In the busy city of NYC he developed his love for music by first learning to play the trumpet. He later on went on to play in his elementary band, then later in a stringed orchestra, he also sang in numerous children choirs. With a strong foundation in Afrikan History and also in Writing, he was influenced by artist such as Bob Marley, Sizzla, Dennis Brown,Eddy Grant and Sam Cooke, Rashaun developed his song writing skills. Still striving and growing as an artist, he remains diligent and optimistic of what the future holds for him as an artist and author.
