Ras Africa born Constance Francois in the Caribbean island of St. Lucia is a seasoned performer. When on stage, is hungry to exhibit an indefatigable style that so characterizes him.
The versatile singer/songwriter/performer never displeases his audiences. 
At age 18, Ras Africa performed along with his brother, Ras Bonté in the neighbouring French territory of Guadeloupe. This would mark the opening of a chapter on the journey of his travels to overseas destinations.


His appetite to succeed, notwithstanding the absence of a manager for most of his career, Ras Africa has graced stages in packed venues in Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Cayenne (French Guyana). Audiences in London, Scotland, Holland, France, Ghana and Nigeria have also had the opportunity to enjoy the energetic performances of the versatile artiste.


His first recording in 1995 happened to be the first song he wrote—a kwéyol reggae number - 'Nous Wivé'. The single track received national acclaim and remained on local charts at No. 1 for 3 weeks. In the same year, he recorded 2 other songs - 'Traversé' and 'Merci Papa' - both kwéyòl songs.


Not long afterwards, he worked on his first CD mainly comprising songs that he had written years before. This particular CD was dedicated mainly, to the Kweyol community in Saint Lucia. It was released in August 1996 and was titled 'Irie Vision'.  This CD provides listeners and music critics with a delightful sample of the overall musical depth and versatility of the artiste.  Of the 11 songs, 6 are written in Kwéyòl and 5 including the title track 'Irie Vision' are in English.


In 1996 Ras Africa on returning from London, England dropped a single release 'Slice of the Pie' in time for Christmas of that year.  This track became a best seller and sustains major airplay up to present times in the Holiday Season.


His second CD release in 1998 was 'Legendary Mysteries' with all lyrics and melodies by Ras Africa with his signature singing style.  Soon to be released this year 2013 is CD titled 'Armageddon' which will reveal the maturity of an artiste, still on the rise.


Ras Africa has opened concerts for musical legends, Culture, Steel Pulse, Buju Banton, Lucky Dube, and Grammacks. His musical flexibility is extraordinary. Moving from Kwéyòl to English, he is very comfortable.  The artiste also switches from musical genres with amazing ease whether he is riding the rhythms of Reggae, Zoukous, Zouk or Cadence, Ras Africa is simply a performer par excellence. Commanding on stage, the artiste is a hugely energetic entertainer.


At every opportunity, his unique style in song, vocals, and performance, is always appreciated by audiences—both in Saint Lucia and overseas.
