I love to cook for other people.
You can always tell when people are enjoying the moment as one during a meal; the brief blissful silence while everyone sits together sharing the enjoyment of food and company. That’s usually when I know that I got a recipe right and know it’s a keeper. I am grateful to have had a few opportunities where I taught friends some of my favorite recipes. When people come together to make a meal, the weight of the world seems to get a bit lighter and a lot simpler than before. I think this is why the Holidays are held so dear to us. And with the Holidays approaching, what a better time than to kick off something I’ve wanted to do for some time now. For the last year, I have been doing research for a special project. Inspired by those that I cook for, I wanted to create an area to share insights and recipes, ask questions, and to learn about foods and recipes from all around the world. Here, every day applications will allow people to experiment and try to expand their culinary world: in flavor, in culture, and tradition. These days, we are overwhelmed with information and find it difficult to focus on a starting point. The site will streamline many different reference points: cookbooks, magazines, internet, and television. This is a place to sort through all this information and trim technique and flavors down to their simplest form where it can be adapted into everyday use.
This is a place for everyone to share and create.
