Something is up with the compressor within Studio One 5 chopping off certain tracks despite the slow release setting.. Back to the drawing board I guess..

I get tunes in my head while I'm out paddling on my paddle board. The sounds that nature would make, I will mimic and repeat as continuous mantra or rhythm which can get me into a zone.. My body prefers cadence of 40-48 bpm  for a long slug and as soon as the rhythm sits in a pocket - your mind starts to wonder and then your sonic senses will unconsciously open up. Nature sings melodies in our head. Get away from the (city) noise to listen to yours.

Well enough about paddle boarding, back to the track. I hope it gets you on a rhythm to kick start your day at early dusk. Bless your beautiful heart and have a wonderful day.

Pagebluk ft Alip Ba Ta (Fingerstyle)

1st sketches to the new year. 

Exactly a year since I learnt to play the piano. Self-taught. Slow progress. Slammed the wallet and butt down to confront 88 keys and treaded on. Learning. Self-adversing with melodies whistling in my head. Something good out of this situation with Corona in the world. 

I think this one came out alright. I used to play 1st trumpet back in school marching / symphonic band and there was this long melodic piece named Romanesque. It's definitely got its influence here with the slurry trumpet flow in 2nd half. 

Anyway. I'm dedicating this one to my champion cat - KING. He showed us what perseverance is when something unknown is brought into his world. After 8 years of King being the ruler of the manor, we brought into his world a fae who was 6 weeks small. I received a kitten from my daughter, which we named TUAH (meaning luck) when I knocked the half century milestone.. King adapted. King showed the new hairball how to behave. King changed too - he shared his universe with this new furball entity. 

Maybe this is my heroes anthem for my cats.

Gagaku literally means ‘elegant music’ in Japan. A term originally used in contrast with Zokugaku (popular music) and denotes classical music. It’s Japan’s most ancient classical music. As the sum-total of Japanese music, comprising native Japanese songs and dances handed down from ancient times, instrumental music and dances introduced to Japan from the Asian continent and Japanized, as well as music newly created under the influence of such music, Gagaku evolved into its present form around the 10th century A.D. (mid Heian period).

Gagaku has been performed mainly in the Imperial Court, in aristocratic society and at important shrines and temples.

Gagaku handed down by the Music Department of the Imperial Household Agency now sets the standard for Gagaku.
