Cristian Sarde - Liquid Sword (PAGER013)

Having shined a light on a number of lesser known DJs and producers, we now turn to one many people know and love: Mr Roman Flügel. The German producer has amassed a enviably varied discography over the last twenty years. With various different monikers from Acid Jesus to Eight Miles High, Warp69 to Alter Ego, he has turned out acid, techno, electro, IDM, artful electronic sounds and more unnamable genres beside. As well as co-founding three labels in Ongaku Musik, Klang Elektronik and Playhouse, he has released on Dial, Cocoon and Live At Robert Johnson, sis a veritable pillar of the global underground scene. 

The mix we have from him is a live recording of his set at Lente Kabinet from back in May 2015. As such it is a two hour ride through his singular sound that effuses colourful synth lines and kinked drums, at one moment gliding along an airy groove before then sinking down into a gritty and mechanical world of grinding gears and punchy kicks. Few DJs take as many risks, and pull them off as successfully as Flügel, so this is a real treat indeed.

This week’s New Music Worldwide mix comes from Brazilian power duo Selvagem. The duo comprises of Millos Kaiser and Augusto Olivani aka Trepanado.

Their mission is to unearth and promote overlooked Brazilian music from different genres, from disco to boogie to electro to all things experimental.

They have garnered a reputation as two of the finest selectors on the planet. Responsible for throwing the legendary Selvagem parties in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, they also run the label Selva Discos, responsible for the reissue of Maria Rita Stumpf’s “Brasileira” LP in 2017.

Trushmix 126 is by a London DJ, No Bad Days man and Corsica studio resident/promoter Hollick! Welcome Mr Hollick as we say here at Trush! We are getting ready for DJ Burger's now annual appearance at No Bad Days Party at Corsica, so what would be better then a Hollick mix. Over two hours of various genres in the mix. Much of that 80's electronic sound in various styles, disco inna 80's drum-machine style, 80's inna esoteric style or in an african influenced style or maybe in some oriental style? Some house added to keep the groove, and yes! Mixed live and direct at Corsica studios. What more is there to say. Mr Hollick likes dogs and he made a great vibey mix!
