If my memory serves me right, I once heard DJ Shadow say in a documentary or it may have been an interview where he explained that when choosing the next records to mix, he was guided by the graphics and noticed that regardless of the genre the same colours almost always blend well.
That was my inspiration to start recording sets with records in the same colour whether it was covers or labels.

Ratepus JD has been active in the Lodz music scene for years. He started his adventure with music in 1993 as a frontman, vocalist and songwriter in the funk-rock band Kisiel. After the band's activity in 2003, not having to deal with music for three years and watching Lodz's club life, he missed contact with creativity and decided to start collecting vinyl records. In addition to the classics of rock, he mainly looked for classics of electronic music, such as FSOL or Autechre and the first productions of WARP label from the early 90s. It was a natural development of musical interests, because he was brought up on psychodelic rock of the 60s and 70s. In 2006 he played for the first time in the legendary club Bagdad Café. Until 2014, he organized several recurring events, starting with "Anti DJ Front" - organized together with L.Stadt musicians, through "Balkan Connection" or ending with "PHONK". Since the closure of Bagdad, he has been around Lodz clubs. The only cycle that he continues is "Dia de Muertos", which has already been held nine times. He was originator of the Lodz international festival L'tronica, which he hopes to put back on track.
