I am Caucasian but my great grand father was the first internationally recognized african american opera singer. During a european tour he met my great grandmother in Austria. They fell in love and spent two years together until he was forced to return to Boston. My grandmother was a product of this love. 
Until recently non of the descendants had contacted this family in America. 
In October 2013,  I worked up the courage to take the journey across the Atlantic and meet my African American family. This journey turned my world upside down. 

This reunion with my family lead me to find myself as an artist. 

I composed "Mississippi Blues" right after this reunion.

A year later, I decided to portray this quest to discover my African American roots, musically as well as visually.  
“Mississippi Blues” was filmed in Boston and New Orleans.

The video was directed by Marine van den Broek and was produced by Davaï Canada.

In early 2011, the US was invited yet again to journey into the world of Schiller again with his 6th album, Breathless. Breathless was inspired by a month long voyage aboard the research vessel, Polarstern. A darker, heavier sound is the end result of this journey. Schiller has once again enlisted the help of international vocalists including Midge Ure (frontman of Ultravox), Lenka, Kate Havnevik, Anggun, and many others. The ever changing styles of electronic music, ranging from chill-out to trance to ambient to straight up dance, spans across 19 tracks. As an added bonus, the US version comes packaged with Schiller’s 5th studio album, Desire. Desire (entitled Sehnsucht in Germany) went on to achieve platinum status and featured guest appearances from Colbie Caillat, Chinese pianist Lang Lang, Swedish dance singer September, and others.
