Bari based musician and record selector Dona aka DJ Plant Texture is the founder of Points Records - record label which released works by Dona, Jamal Moss, Vakula, Anthony Shakir and Patrice Scott to name a few - and owner of EXP Records, a vinyl & DJ Shop in his hometown. From chuggy dancehall rhythm and energetic breaks, to intricate, atmospheric techno, electro and grime, these fifteen broken-beat builders take us on on a journey through crafted cadence and dynamic metronomy.

Wanting to give back to the city we live in and one that inspires so much creativity in those fortunate enough to access opportunity, all proceeds from PDCOMP001 will go to Caring in Bristol, a homeless charity providing services and shelter for those most in need.

Peachlyfe (they/them) is a non-binary artist from Denmark, acting out of Berlin and Copenhagen. They catch the political potential in alternative understandings of reality and perform this in their music and everyday life.

About the mix:
Drive is a keyword when Peachlyfe is the selector. Looming fire hides inside every track they choose so that feeling in the hips never dies down - you know the feeling - the one that puts a smile on your lips, a swing in your hips and makes your head goes ‘bop'. This mix consists of groovy techno, mostly newer, a single unreleased production of Peachlyfe's own, a hint of trance and a lot of excess.

CRUDE MIX I 48 - DJ BEVERLY HILL$

Though she came up in London, @danielle_dj embodies the cutting edge electronic sound of her hometown of Bristol. She traverses styles and tempos with a boundary blurring vision that makes each and every selection a surprise. She credits the freedom that comes with years of playing warm up sets as having given her the confidence to play it weird, and has kept that MO now she has become a headliner in her own right. Of course, her NTS shows are always eye-opening affairs for the same reason. 

Given where she lives, a certain bass weight will always underpin a Danielle set, and this week's podcast is no different. In 75 minutes she plots a line from sparse and atmospheric rhythmic pulses to full throttle jungle-referencing rave. Along the way she finds a perfect sweet spot between head wrecking experimental tracks, futurist breaks and universally appealing techno that manages to be both muscular yet refined. It makes for quite the thrill.
