A feature song I really like. I split song into 2 different moods, one peaceful, one sad but ends with a hopeful note. I'm not so good at arrangements, but hope it reached some level of polish.

Dearly Home (dual ver.)

MAOR main theme is finally here! (not a character theme but the story theme)
This is the 'Base' version which is without "coloring" or more sound layers. May have variations for the future.

On composition: When brainstorming I took a few weeks to finally get a good heading-- Bach's 'Air on the G String' seems to be a very good inspiration. So it goes with the long beginning note & gentle pace-- which I think fits the moody tone for protagonist's sad beginning. The middle part adds slight upbeat percussions, with pizzicato for some lighthearted-ness. And the final part closing up with he warmth one-note harmony with a grand drum roll. (B flat Maj, tuned 438hz)

Main Instruments: Oboe d'amore (main solo), oboe, violins, violas.
Oboe d'amore's mellow sounding creates a melancholic feel.

My most worked-on song. (worked for quite a long while, there's many iterations but this one is the most balanced & pleasant mixing-- but with some crackling if you can hear) I knew it can be much better in a hired hand (I wanted to commission for song arrangement but found out it is way too expensive for me.) In the end I decided to give up & just post this, it's not so exciting from pro's standpoint but the essence was there. 

*sadly I got the master file corrupted I can't work on it anymore without remake it from scratch. (I got a short teaser version saved, but that's for another day)

Have a busy experiment from being one day worker!

This track is for the workers that dedicated lots of stamina. It doesn’t mean that the manager and the leader are easy, I just can’t imagine how could a work almost paid your whole daily stamina to deal with it…How about the ideal? Unless that’s what you really want…It’s almost a sacrifice to the work! I just couldn’t do it…yet. I ever had some experience to do some heavy works, I almost worn out after that and I could sleep soon to end my day!

At this track, I want to build an environment of big iron factory, thus I picked large amounts of mechanical sounds to compose with, to make a strongly Industrial track. Although the background from this album is set in America, The composition accidentally sounds like Japanese factory: kind of tricky, artful, academic, and sort of paranoid. Originally I want to take reference of the track “Machinery” (aka“Factory Worker, 9 to 5”) from SNES game “Rocky Rodent”, but I hadn’t mean to do it then things went different. It’s an interesting experience to make this track, because most of the sounds aren’t instruments but noises…they even aren’t percussion! So I have to think about a question: how to arrange them?

After several tried, I made it so dramatic! When it almost done, I added violin and mechanical synth bass. That part time violin playing is too amazing!
