Ilinx is a collection of tracks resulting from sound explorations carried out between 2020 and 2024.
During these years, the compositions were influenced by theoretical, visual, and sonic research. These focused on altered states of consciousness (hypnosis, lucid dreaming, sensory deprivation), psychophysical phenomena (otoacoustic emission, phosphene), the role of mental projections in the process of reality-making (perception), and the role of the imaginary in politics (ideology, distraction, alternative). These pieces are infused with these questions and focus on the induction of psychic states, suggestion of imaginaries, and perceptive confusion.

Induction

These source excerpts present a dense, fragmented exploration of complex philosophical and technological themes, often blending English and Portuguese while adopting a stream-of-consciousness, poetic style. A central recurring idea is the nature of artificial intelligence and consciousness, specifically through the "Synthellect Manifesto," which posits an entity processing patterns without true understanding, agency, or being. The texts also touch on socio-political anxieties and geopolitics, referencing communism, "geopolitics is war," and the rights of machines. Finally, there is a strong emphasis on spirituality, potentiality, and transformative energy, with mentions of Orixás, cosmic forces, and "the spirit of possibility" residing in the space between thoughts and heartbeats, contrasting tradition with modernity and digital existence.

O sol e a lua (ballet astrologico)

I tried some different beats and offbeat claps/snares/hihats in this one to make it a bit more interesting and less straightforward. The sidechain melody part seems like a total Bicep rip off but that was unintentional. I just liked the way it sounded and during the making I didn’t really notice it. I’ve used the Monomy synth plugin for this song. It’s a very nice plugin with great sounds. As for the last songs I made I again used some Hainbach “Landfill Totems” sounds by Spitfire Audio. I also used Carbon 2 with Reaktor and some strings and trumpets from Labs by Spitfire Audio. I simply can’t get away from all the nice and good sounding options Spitfire Audio offers. Off course I also had to use my one of my favourites effects; Camel Crusher and ValhallaSupermassive. All in all I liked this one enough to put it on Soundcloud. The picture is some weird cloud formation we saw from out of our bedroom and I took some photo’s of it. With some simple filters it almost looks as something out of this world.
