With over 20 years experience under his belt, Ben Sims has a well-deserved reputation as one of the world's most in-demand and leading techno DJs - a tight, energetic mixer who skilfully weaves together his own distinctive blend of tough funk and hardg..
From early formative days earning his stripes spinning hip hop, house and rave on pirate radio, and at parties around Essex and East London, through the 90's as an ever more in demand DJ, and on into the new millennium as a label boss, producer and internationally recognised techno legend in his own right, Ben Sims has spent all his conscious life exploring all facets of underground dance music 

Throughout that time, the man has honed his reputation as a tight, energetic mixer who skilfully weaves together his own distinctive blend of tough funk and hardgrooves, often using three-deck wizardry and plenty of dexterity.  Be it at clubs like Fabric London, Atomic Jam, Berghain, Florida 135, or any number of festivals around the world, Sims' sets are powerful, memorable, and unique, while constantly pushing the boundaries of a DJ set - utilising a   mesmerizing blend of vinyl, CDs, and software.

As well as carving a reputation as one of the world's leading techno DJs, Ben has curated many of his own revered labels over the years.  Chief amongst them is Theory - an imprint this year celebrating it's 40th release, that counts amongst it's supporters contemporary connoisseurs like Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, and the old guard of Dave Clarke, Robert Hood, Rolando and more - proof, then, that Sims is on the form of his life production wise.

Riding high on the wave of critical acclaim from his cultured debut long player on Drumcode, 2011's Smoke & Mirrors, an album that voyages into Sim's unique take on techno, coupled with authentic house outings, thanks to guest appearances from Chicago's Tyree Cooper and Detroit's Blake Baxter, whilst also showcasing plenty of dubbed-out and grainy textures.

Sims has put his name to more than 50 releases in the last two decades.  During those years, there has also been a steady stream of high profile remixes of scene heavyweights, including Jeff Mills, Adam Beyer, Kevin Saunderson and Chris Liebing, on labels du jour like AXIS, KMS, CLR and Drumcode, all of which have won as much critical praise as they have crossover success. 

Despite his veteran status in the scene, Sims has always been keen to evolve.  Alongside Kirk Degiorgio, he is co-founder & curator of Machine - a clubnight which focuses on new, unreleased, & upfront music; it's primary home in London, but with editions all across Europe each year. His 'Run it Red' radio show, broadcast via NTSlive and podcasted afterwards, also serves to solely highlight new music.

Madrid techno experienced one of its most epic nights: with all the tickets sold out, the artists took over the club in an all night long of pure techno

Once upon a time there were two young DJs who, with boxes full of vinyl and, above all, a lot of desire, began to chart a path in the underground scene. It was the 90s, a time of musical revolution where club culture in Spain took shape in booths shrouded in smoke and strobe lights. At that time, Cristian Varela and DJ Pepo did not know that their names would become synonymous with excellence, passion and a unique connection with the public.

Three decades later, techno is still its language and its mission remains intact: to make every person who steps on the floor enjoy it. Last Saturday, February 8, LAB theClub at Chamartín Station witnessed one more chapter of these two living legends. Haters, which was born in 2015 and established itself as one of the references of techno in Spain, celebrated its anniversary with an event that is already part of the history of Madrid clubbing.

The Monegros Desert is noted for its Monegros Desert Festival, usually held in mid-July, attracting numerous Spaniards and internationally renowned DJ's and bands and some 40,000 people to its electronic music performances annually. Formerly called the "Groove Parade" after being founded in 1992, it is held at the Finca Les Peñetes, roughly 18 kilometres (11 mi) west of Fraga, not far from Bujaraloz. It is held in a windowless graffiti filled hall called Flarida, with an area of some 3,000 square metres (32,000 sq ft).

Born in early 80’s in Barcelona with more than 15 years djing, Raul is currently one of most projection electronic music producers in the spanish club scene. In 2009 joined as a resident at Florida 135 and Monegros Desert Festival. At the beginning of 2012 he gets in the Elrow’s resident djs roster and Space Ibiza among other tours around the world under the brand: “ElRow On The Road”. At the end of 2014 Raul decided to make a spin into his own career and left behind ElRow to focus on his solo career. Currently, people can enjoy his sets full of energy, forcefulness and groove over all Europe and America.
Since his first vinyl release in 2005, Raul has been evolving, improving and debugging his style. This has been contributed to such music productions with more than 400 tracks on the market released by labels like Suara, Toolroom, Octopus, Bitten, 1605 among others. His tracks usually get listed on top 10 sellers stores as Beatport. At the end of 2013 Raul makes another step on his career and started to edit sample libraries whith his own brand: 48KHZ and has achieved that every release get listed on top 10 sellers on Beatport. At the begining of 2015 Raul puts all the energy into his new personal project and starts his own record label: Hot Key that will gather worldclass artist with the sound that caracterize him as a music producer.

Barcelonés nacido en los 80 y con más de 15 años de cabina a sus espaldas, actualmente es uno de los productores de música electrónica con más proyección en la escena musical de nuestro país. En el 2009 fichó como residente en el mítico club fragatino Florida 135 y Monegros Desert Festival. A principios del 2011 entró a formar parte del rooster de residentes de Elrow, con residencia en Space Ibiza y realizando tours por todo el mundo con sus conocidos espectáculos bajo la marca “El Row On The Road”. A finales del 2014 Raúl decidió dar un giro a su carrera y por decisión propia dejó de trabajar con la marca Elrow para poder así centrarse en su carrera en solitario. Actualmente, los espectadores pueden disfrutas de sus sesiones llenas de energía, contundencia y buen groove por toda Europa y América.

Desde que lanzó su primer vinilo en el 2005, durante estos últimos años Raúl ha ido evolucionando, perfeccionando y depurando su estilo y su sonido. Esto ha contribuido a que tenga reconocidas producciones, contando con más de 400 tracks en el mercado editados en sellos tan importantes como Suara, Toolroom, Octopus, Bitten, 1605, entre otros. Con su renombrado nombre sus tracks suelen entrar en las listas de ventas top10 mundiales de páginas tan reconocidas como Beatport. A finales del 2013 Raúl da un paso más en su carrera como productor y se embarca en la edición de librerías de samples creando la suya propia (48KHz) y consiguiendo que prácticamente cada lanzamiento entre en el top10 de ventas de Beatport. A principios del 2015 Raúl pone toda su ilusión en su proyecto más personal y lanza su nuevo sello discográfico, Hot Key, que contará con artistas productores top1 mundiales y con la esencia del sonido característico de él como productor.
